The 19-year-old man on the scooter was reported unresponsive for about 10 minutes, and then he became confused and combative, suggesting a suspected head injury. He wore no helmet.
The scooter struck the driver’s side of the Mercedes SUV in the intersection. Lt. William Sullivan, police spokesman, says the driver of the Mercedes has been charged with making an illegal U-turn, no proof of insurance, and failure to signal.

When officers asked the driver, later identified as Weldon C. Lucas III, 38, to step out of the vehicle, Lucas fled from the scene on foot and began running westbound across Philadelphia Avenue until officers lost sight of him. Additional officers responded to the area and were unable to locate Lucas. During the investigation, officers determined that Lucas had a suspended driver’s license and also had multiple warrants out for his arrest from the Philadelphia Police Department.
Multiple members of the OCPD, including detectives from the Major Crimes Division and Special Enforcement Unit, as well as patrol officers, continued to actively search for Lucas. At approximately 8:30 p.m. police located and arrested Lucas in the area of 82nd Street and the beach.
The Anne Arundel County Fire Department Hazardous Materials Team responded to the scene and in working with the staff at Camp Letts isolated the problem to an apparent mechanical malfunction which caused an excessive amount of either Sodium Hypochlorite or Muriatic Acid to enter into the pool. The problem was recognized by camp staff who quickly evacuated children from the pool and moved them rapidly to showers at the facility where they were decontaminated of the product. The quick thinking of the staff is believed to have minimized the impact of the exposure.
Croaker fishing from a pier is quite productive. But, you can increase your odds by taking a boat to the edge of a channel and fishing along that edge. Also, oyster beds are particularly good feeding grounds for croakers to dine upon. Drift fishing will help you cover a lot of bottom till you find a good area to anchor.
The croaker limit of 25 per angler is quite generous. Make sure you keep those noisy fish chilled or iced down well. No sense spoiling that delectable salt water taste that croakers are known for. Fresh fried croaker is fine eating. Freezing the fillets diminishes the flavor greatly.
07/07/2014 — Police say Kenneth Hunt 2nd, 24, of Dover, was killed when he crashed his 2004 Kawasaki ZX6 motorcycle at high speed into the rear of a 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck. Both vehicles were traveling on the southbound lanes around 1:40 a.m. Sunday.
Witnesses said they heard the high-pitched motorcycle engine approach the intersection of Coastal Highway and Old Landing Road. That is where they reported hearing an impact and the Kawasaki slide across the roadway toward Atlantic Liquors and burst into flames.
Larkin pushed the clerk to the floor and was able to grab a PNC money bag from behind the counter before fleeing. Larkin was last seen fleeing the area on foot.
Larkin was last observed wearing a “do” rag on his head and sunglasses on his head, a blue tee shirt, and baggy blue jean shorts. Larkin also has numerous tattoos on each of his arms.

Some of the owners of multiple vacant lots in the service area have announced that they will bring a court challenge against the Ordinance, the outcome of which we believe, after extensive legal research, is likely to be in favor of the challengers. The County purports to have legal advice that the challenge will likely fail, but this advice has not been shared with the public — certainly, the SGCC should review that advice. The SGCC should also revisit the determination that the nine-year-old Attorney General’s opinion can, on today’s facts and law, still be relied on to exclude the 487 lots, some of whose owners have also stated they will take legal action. 2
