PRINCE FREDERICK, MD. — One driver who should have been arrested when first stopped by a trooper was instead given a break and allowed to call someone to drive his vehicle, due to his driver’s license being suspended.

Maryland State Police report that on 7/7/14 at 4:56 pm, Trooper First Class Lewis stopped a vehicle on Rt. 231 and Thoroughbred Dr. for traffic violations. Avon D. Cochran, 23 of Waldorf, was driving on a suspended license. He was advised he could not continue to drive and he agreed to make arrangements for his own disposition. Approximately 5 minutes later, after resuming traffic enforcement, TFC Lewis located Cochran driving on Church St. in Prince Frederick. He was arrested for failing to obey a lawful order. He was incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

Cain vs. Able: State Police find guns and drugs in search of residence after charging James Pascuzzi with shooting his brother

STATE POLICE CONTINUE INVESTIGATION INTO A CECIL COUNTY SHOOTING

(COLORA, MD) – Maryland State Police investigators from the Criminal Enforcement Division, Northern Region, continue to investigate a shooting on July 1, 2014 of a Cecil County man.

The victim is identified as Jonathan Pascuzzi, 23, of the unit block of Liddell Road in Colora. Pascuzzi was transported by medevac to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center for the treatment of his injuries.

As a result of the ongoing investigation, State Police have charged Pascuzzi’s younger brother, James Pascuzzi, 21, of the same address with manufacturing and possession of marijuana, drug trafficking and other firearm and drug related charges. He is being held at the Cecil County Detention Center.

State Police report bagging four running heroin ring on Eastern Shore

(DENTON, MD) – A cooperative cross-jurisdictional and multi-state drug investigation has led to at least four arrests with more expected as police dismantle a drug trafficking organization they believe was responsible for the distribution of heroin and a variety of other drugs throughout the Upper Shore region.

The first suspect is identified as Byron S. Drummond, 27, of Denton, Md. He is charged with being a drug kingpin, possession of a large amount of a controlled dangerous substance (heroin), possession with intent to distribute narcotics, and two counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance not marijuana. Following his arrest, Drummond was ordered held without bail in the Queen Anne’s County Detention Center.

LEXINGTON PARK, MD. – On Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at 4:02 pm, Tpr. A. Oyler initiated a traffic stop on a gold truck on Route 246 and Kay Drive for a minor traffic infraction. Investigation revealed that the vehicle had been reported stolen through Virginia, and the driver, Bradley Patrick Townshend, 20, of Heathsville, VA had an outstanding warrant. Mr. Townshend was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center. He was held pending an extradition hearing.

Glen Burnie: cops snare multi-level marketing expert with cash, heroin and cocaine. On June 23, 2014, at approximately 8:50 p.m., officers from the Eastern District Tactical Patrol Unit were checking an individual known to have multiple warrants in the 400 block of Secluded Post Circle in Glen Burnie. Officers approached the person and he fled on foot, but was apprehended after a brief foot chase without incident. Upon searching the suspect, he was found to be in possession of a plastic baggie containing (1-1/2 oz.) heroin, (1 gram) cocaine, prescription medications (valued over $5,300) and over $1,600 in currency that was seized. The suspect was served the outstanding warrants and charged with drug possession and distribution.
