This is the first-ever criminal case concerning the advertisement and sale of a mobile device spyware app. Marketing for the app targeted people suspicious that their spouses or romantic partners might be cheating on them.
“Apps like StealthGenie are expressly designed for use by stalkers and domestic abusers who want to know every detail of a victim’s life—all without the victim’s knowledge,” said Leslie Caldwell, assistant attorney general of the Justice Department’s Criminal Division.

Flanagan’s co-conspirator, Timothy Stafford, constructed a wooden cross in a workshop behind his house. Using Flanagan’s credit card, Stafford and co-conspirator Ivan “Rusty” London then purchased diesel-fuel with which to soak the cross.
Flanagan and the other co-conspirators then drove the cross to the victim’s residence and upon arriving at the residence, Flanagan and London exited the truck.
The cross was placed in the driveway leading up to the house and was ignited. The co-conspirators burned the cross with the purpose of intimidating the African-American male who resided at that residence.

Corporal Michael Waters rushed to a home in Upper Marlboro after a drowning call came into 911. A two-year-old toddler was discovered in the family pool. The child’s family had started CPR. When he arrived, Corporal Waters took over and continued CPR until paramedics arrived. The little boy survived.
Police say that at approximately 9:20AM, Deneque Dunham (39) knocked on the residence of a 76-year-old man. The victim knows the suspect because she had previously been hired to clean his residence. When the victim refused entry to Dunham, she went to the back door and attempted to enter the residence there.

DOVER, DEL. (Sept. 30, 2014) — Dover Police report that a 51 year-old man from Goldsboro, MD has died after being struck by a vehicle on Friday evening as he was crossing a street to get to a funeral home.
The victim was identified as 37-year-old Nicole C. Burgess of 3317 Royale Glen Court in Davidsonville, Maryland. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore determined the cause of death as multiple stab wounds and the manner as homicide.
After a necropsy was performed on the deceased dog, a Pit-bull mix, it was determined that the dog died as a result of multiple stab wounds.
