UPDATE: Deneque Dunham, 39, was arrested late Thursday night after turning herself in to the Dover Police Department. Dunham was questioned by detectives and arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 7 where she was released on $21,000 unsecured bond.
DOVER, DEL. (Sept. 30, 2014) — The Dover Police Department is seeking a 39-year-old Dover woman in connection with an early morning home invasion and assault of an elderly man.
Police say that at approximately 9:20AM, Deneque Dunham (39) knocked on the residence of a 76-year-old man. The victim knows the suspect because she had previously been hired to clean his residence. When the victim refused entry to Dunham, she went to the back door and attempted to enter the residence there.
The victim and Dunham had a confrontation, leading to Dunham throwing the man to the ground outside of his residence. Dunham then entered the residence and stole medication and the victim’s wallet with an undisclosed amount of cash and various cards.
Police say that Dunham exited the rear door and was involved in another altercation with the victim, that led to Dunham throwing him to the ground once more. The victim suffered lacerations to his mouth, arms, and legs but refused medical treatment.
