LEXINGTON PARK, MD. – On Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at 4:02 pm, Tpr. A. Oyler initiated a traffic stop on a gold truck on Route 246 and Kay Drive for a minor traffic infraction. Investigation revealed that the vehicle had been reported stolen through Virginia, and the driver, Bradley Patrick Townshend, 20, of Heathsville, VA had an outstanding warrant. Mr. Townshend was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center. He was held pending an extradition hearing.
Your lawnmower, riding tractor, roto-tiller or boat motor might be just fine the way you have them arranged in your boathouses, sheds or carports but to druggies, they are a ticket to tonight’s paradise for a cheap dose of crack or heroin. Some thieves take your items to pawn shops or scrap metal dealers.
Here are a few more recent reports from police of those who have become victims of burglars and thieves and in many cases the items were left in unlocked structures.
Sheriff Roger L. Harris announced the arrest of Edward Alsop, 49 of Spotsylvania for the June 15, 2014 sexual battery of a juvenile victim at the Indian Acres campground in Spotsylvania County.
On June 15, 2014 Spotsylvania County Deputies responded to a 911 call to the Indian Acres Campground, located in the 6400 block of Morris Road. The caller advised that his seven year old son had been sexually attacked by an unknown subject, brandishing a knife in the bathroom, near the spot where the victim’s family was camping for the weekend.
Indian Acres security personnel had already begun establishing a perimeter and checking all vehicles approaching the main entrance and exit of the facility. Deputies, along with security personnel, began a sweep of the area, looking for a vehicle that matched the description given by the victim and his brother, (who had witnessed the suspect jump into a pickup truck and leave the scene).
According to St. Mary’s Sheriff’s Capt. Daniel Alioto, Vice/Narcotics detectives, working with Inspectors from the United States Postal Inspection Service, identified a possible package arriving in St. Mary’s County from the State of California containing a large quantity of marijuana.
A Hollywood, Maryland residence was identified as the destination and Jason Andrew Junge, 25, was identified as the target to which the drugs were sent.

Sen. David Brinkley, the Senate minority leader, lost his primary race to Del. Michael Hough in a western Maryland district that includes much of Frederick County and some of Carroll County.
Hough is finishing his first term in the House of Delegates. Hough campaigned as the more conservative candidate. Brinkley made trips to Southern Maryland to campaign for Steve Waugh who is the GOP nominee running against Sen. Roy Dyson (D. Calvert, St. Mary’s). Brinkley’s time might have been better spent in his home district.

MURDER USADEATH INVESTIGATION UNDERWAY IN CARROLL COUNTY
(HAMPSTEAD, MD) — What happens when killers want to get rid of a body in Maryland? From a recent case in Talbot County where rich kids having a drug party on imported narcotics rub out one of their buddies to the regular dispatch of competing drug dealers in Baltimore City, killers are always faced with the problem of disposal.
Murderers throughout modern history either take a boat out and weigh down the victim’s body with cinderblocks and chains or simply dump the corpse out along a country road. Here is a story of one victim who wasn’t given a boat ride:
Maryland State Police and Carroll County Sheriff’s Office deputies are investigating the death of a man whose body was found along a wooded area beside a rural field in northern Carroll County this morning
GREENBELT, Md. (WJLA) – A federal grand jury has indicted a husband and wife in Maryland for medical fraud, to the tune of $2.3 million.
Doctors Paramjit Ajrawat, 60, and his wife Sukhveen Ajrawat, 56, both of Potomac, are accused of over-billing their patients, and then collecting insurance payouts from government agencies like Medicare and Medicaid.
The couple has owned and operated the Washington Pain Management Center in Greenbelt since 1985. P. Ajrawat treated patients for physical ailments, while his wife, a board-certified psychiatrist, handled clients with mental concerns.
According to a ten-page, 16-count indictment, the Ajrawats routinely performed low cost medical procedures, but then billed insurance providers for operations that netted higher reimbursements. For instance, prosecutors have accused the Ajrawats of submitting hundreds of claims for epidurals, when in fact they’d given clients a less intensive injection using lidocaine
