Klansman Pleads Guilty to Federal Hate Crime for Cross Burning

Flanagan’s co-conspirator, Timothy Stafford, constructed a wooden cross in a workshop behind his house. Using Flanagan’s credit card, Stafford and co-conspirator Ivan “Rusty” London then purchased diesel-fuel with which to soak the cross.

Flanagan and the other co-conspirators then drove the cross to the victim’s residence and upon arriving at the residence, Flanagan and London exited the truck.

The cross was placed in the driveway leading up to the house and was ignited. The co-conspirators burned the cross with the purpose of intimidating the African-American male who resided at that residence.

The victim was identified as 37-year-old Nicole C. Burgess of 3317 Royale Glen Court in Davidsonville, Maryland. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore determined the cause of death as multiple stab wounds and the manner as homicide.

After a necropsy was performed on the deceased dog, a Pit-bull mix, it was determined that the dog died as a result of multiple stab wounds.

Grandeur of The Seas passenger evacuated by Coast Guard from ship to Point Lookout

BALTIMORE — The Coast Guard medevaced a 58-year-old woman Friday from a cruise ship near Smith Point.

A crewmember aboard the Grandeur of the Seas contacted watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Baltimore at approximately 10 p.m. and requested a medevac for a 58-year-old woman who had sustained injuries during a fall.

Bailey told ST. MARY’S TODAY that she wanted to go “one-on-one” with Richard Fritz to answer his public statements that what occurred in November of 1964 at a house on St. George’s Island with her, Fritz and two other young men was a case of consensual sex, while she contends she was forcibly raped.

Bailey first disclosed her story in April, charging that she had been raped, saying that she wanted to be identified as the victim, pointing out that she had done nothing wrong or had done anything to be ashamed of. Bailey says that she wants to be able to tell what really happened as she is furious that Fritz is painting her to be tramp.

BALTIMORE, MD —A federal grand jury has returned a superseding indictment charging Jeffrey Brian Cohen, age 39, of Reisterstown, Maryland, with wire fraud and money laundering in addition to the charges of making false statements to an insurance regulator that were included in the original indictment. The superseding indictment was returned on September 16, 2014.

Gunmen supersized their order at Checkers

GLEN BURNIE, MD. — Anne Arundel Police report that on September 22, 2014, at approximately 12:28 am, officers from Northern District responded to the Checkers Restaurant located in the 100 block of Mountain Road in Glen Burnie for a reported armed robbery of the business.

Upon arrival, officers spoke with three employees still on the scene. The employees reported that one of the employees was at the rear of the parking lot taking out the trash when he was approached by three black male suspects. One of the suspects displayed a handgun and ordered the employee back into the business

Fraud Gang Worked Hard to Scam Banks and Identity Theft Victims

Gbadamosi was a manager and supervisor in the conspiracy, driving other conspirators from bank to bank and directing them to withdraw stolen funds. Gbadamosi gave false identification documents to his co-conspirators, who would then enter the banks and use the IDs to cash checks drawn on the fraudulently funded accounts. These IDs contained the names and birthdates of real people who did not know their identities had been stolen. On at least one occasion, Gbadamosi gave the real driver’s license of an individual to a co-conspirator, whom Gbadamosi then directed to make unauthorized withdrawals from that individual’s bank account.
