Two Talbot County watermen were charged last Friday by NRP officers with illegal oyster harvesting.
John Thomas Murphy, 36, of Tilghman, and James Edward Tyler Jr., 35, of Wittman, were caught taking oysters from more than 150 feet inside the Harris Creek Sanctuary off Tilghman Island.
Robinson was arrested and charged with Assault First Degree, Assault Second Degree, and Disorderly Conduct. The Metropolitan Police Department charged a Prince George’s County Police officer with leaving the scene of an accident on Sunday, November 30, 2014. Police Officer First Class Mark Samuels-Thompson was off duty at the time of his arrest. There were no reported injuries.
Police report that on November 25th at 9:09PM, officers responded to the 14700 block of Potomac Heights Pl in Woodbridge, Va. to investigate a robbery. The victim, an 18-year-old woman of Triangle, reported to police that she and a known male acquaintance were walking through a residential parking garage in the above area when they encountered two unknown men. During the encounter, the men pulled out handguns and demanded property. The victim’s male acquaintance immediately fled on foot. One of the suspects pursued the male acquaintance. The other suspect took the victim to an interior apartment, at which point, the first suspect returned with a second victim, a 19 year old woman of Woodbridge. Once inside the apartment, the men took a wallet and money from the victims before fleeing. No injuries were reported. This was not a random incident.
The reported fire brought 28 firefighters from the Salisbury Fire Department to the scene with the first unit arriving within 4 minutes of dispatch. Initial units made entry and discovered an adult male occupant deceased on the second floor. The deceased has been transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to determine positive identity and cause of death.
Police say that as Biddle reached the intersection of DE Rt. 2 and Green Valley Drive, he made a sudden U-turn and began traveling in an eastbound direction at a high rate of speed. Biddle then turned onto Farrand Drive and into the parking lot of the Farrand Village Apartments, where he was observed tossing an object from his car. Biddle’s vehicle then struck several parked cars in the complex where it came to rest. He then exited the car and fled on foot but was apprehended after a short foot chase.
The Coast Guard medevaced an injured 62-year-old man from his sailboat Thursday approximately 100 miles east of Kill Devil Hills. Watchstanders at the Fifth Coast Guard District command center in Portsmouth, Virginia, received notification at approximately 8:30 p.m. Wednesday from the International Emergency Response Coordination Center, reporting they received a distress message from the sailboat Austina.
On August 14 at approximately 10:05 a.m., the Emergency Communications Center (9-1-1) received a call for an armed robbery in progress at Sweeney Building Services located at 18931 Premier Court in Gaithersburg. Two suspects entered the business armed with a handgun and a taser. They obtained an undisclosed amount of cash. The victims were able to give descriptions of both suspects and the vehicle used to leave the scene. Using this information, detectives began their investigation.
