The Dover Police Department responded to 18 shoplifting calls between Noon on December 11th and Noon on December 18th. Of those 18 shoplifting complaints, three were unfounded, five are still under investigation, and arrests were made/warrants obtained in 10 cases. A total of 12 adults were arrested during this period. After the final shoplifting notification on January 2nd, 2015 the Dover Police Department will compile statistics since the notification program began and compare them to 2012 and 2013 numbers to determine if there was any success in reducing shoplifting incidents.
DOVER, DEL. — The Dover Police Department reports that they have put the brakes on a robber who has left a trail of empty cash registers behind him as he waltzed in and out of a couple of businesses a week for the past month.
The department reports it has arrested a serial robbery suspect responsible for six armed robberies in just a couple of weeks. The arrest was made after Morris Simms,43,, robbed the EZ Check Cashing business at 1005 College Road just after 2:00PM on Friday, December 19th.
Spotsylvania Police Beat: Cops bet Subway bandit is good for slew of robberies across Virginia – Cosner’s Corner, Va. – Spotsylvania Sheriff Roger L. Harris reports that detectives have arrested a man for robbery who may be a suspect in many more robberies of stores across Virginia.
On December 13th patrol deputies responded to the Subway at Cosner’s Corner for a report of a robbery in progress where two armed subjects entered the business demanding money. The robbers fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money prior to the arrival of law enforcement.
On the night of Dec. 18, 2005, a Sunday, around 6:30 p.m., Warner was alone in her home along U.S. 29 in southern Culpeper County. She was on the phone with her father, John Embrey, discussing the Washington Redskins’ recent win against the Dallas Cowboys when the call was interrupted by a knock on the door. It was a man on her doorstep claiming his car had broken down and asking to use Warner’s phone so he could call for help.
His conversation suggested he was not alone, according to Jenkins. Warner hung up the phone and was never heard from again. Alerted by her family, first responders showed up at her Reva home just before 8 p.m. to find it on fire, her lifeless body bound and hanging in the basement. Warner was shot in the head.

All three Colombian nationals were arrested on May 18, 2014, when the self-propelled, semi-submersible vessel in which they were traveling was interdicted and searched by the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG).
