Maryland State Police Criminal Enforcement Division, Central South Region is comprised of investigators from the Maryland State Police Criminal Enforcement Division and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI). The investigators are tasked with working investigations within Maryland’s jurisdictions and crimes that cross state lines.
On December 19, 2014, members from the Maryland State Police Criminal Enforcement Division, Central South Region conducted a warrant sweep. The warrant sweep was conducted in collaboration with the Howard County States Attorney’s Office, St. Mary’s County States Attorney’s Office, Maryland State Apprehension Team, Maryland State Police Leonardtown Barrack and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI). As a result of this collaboration, the following individuals were located and charged:
Joseph Paul Lee (44) of Mechanicsville
During nearly a three year investigation in locating suspect Lee, MSP Criminal Enforcement Division investigators located him in Fayetteville, N.C. With the collaboration of the Fayetteville Police Department and Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Apprehension Unit, Lee was apprehended and is currently awaiting extradition back to St. Mary’s County for felony theft from a residence in St. Mary’s County, MD.
Dale Thomas Norfolk (26) of Lexington Park
Suspect Norfolk was located and serviced with a criminal summons for 2nd Degree Burglary, theft under $1,000, theft under $10,000 and malicious destruction of property.
William Chinedu Ozah (21) of Leonardtown
Suspect Ozah was located and served with a grand jury indictment for armed robbery with a weapon, robbery, theft less than $100,000, convicted felon in possession of a regulated firearm, possessing a regulated firearm and fugitive from justice.
Wayne William Webb III (33) of Lexington Park
Suspect Webb was located and served with charges for possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute. On November 24, 2014 Webb was found to be in possession of approximately 3.4 pounds of high grade marijuana, street value of approximately $28,000.00.
SUNGYUP BAEK (45) of Columbia
Suspect Baek was located and charged with possession with intent to distribute synthetic marijuana through a Howard County Circuit Court Indictment. A two month joint investigation with Virginia State Police revealed Baek was distributing synthetic marijuana. During the execution of search warrants, Baek was found to be in possession of synthetic marijuana valued at an estimated street value of $20,000.
