Maryland State Police Sgt. Jeff Jones reports that on June 16, 2014 members from the Maryland State Apprehension Team (MSAT) located suspect Jamarr Sherman Mackall (22), DOB: 12/13/91 at a residence in Lusby, Calvert County, MD.
Upon arrival, officers observed a Mercedes 300D with the operator blowing the horn repeatedly. Upon making contact with that driver, identified as Robert Knickerbocker, officers detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from the operator’s breath and noticed that his eyes were glassy and his speech was mumbled and slurred. The operator exited the vehicle and identified himself as a police officer with the Maryland Natural Resources Police.
Warrant Service / Possession of Suboxone: On 6/10/14 at 7:04 pm, Trooper Palumbo responded to the Parole and Probation Office on Duke St. to serve a warrant. During the arrest, Matthew Wayne Wiegand, of Lusby, was found to be in possession of Suboxone. He was arrested and incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.
LEONARDTOWN, MD. — Who would have thought that it makes good sense in a GOP primary to have Good Old Boy Democrat Del. Johnny Wood make an endorsement of one of the three Republicans competing for their party’s nomination? Or that the same candidate would also trot out former Commissioner Dan Raley, also a Democrat, to endorse him, even after Raley got trounced by Treasurer Jan Norris four years earlier? Raley’s decision to attempt to uproot the popular Norris in a power grab upset women all over St. Mary’s County and Raley left town on election night with his tail between his legs.
MADDOX, MD. St. Mary’s Sheriff’s Department reports that on June 15, 2014 at approximately 2:00 PM, the 11-year-old female who went missing on 6-13-14 while swimming in the Wicomico River was located, deceased, along the shore near Newburg in Charles County, Maryland.

Police say that a 34-year-old male was discovered deceased, the latest in a string of approximately six such heroin overdose this year. Detectives from both the Criminal Investigations Division and Vice/Narcotics Division responded and assumed the investigation.
“Ms. Morris lied to the grand jury in an attempt to protect herself and to protect a cross burner,” said U.S. Attorney George L. Beck Jr. for the Middle District of Alabama. “When someone testifies in court they swear to tell the truth. Unfortunately, Ms. Morris lied. For our system of justice to protect the rights of all, those who testify before the grand jury must provide accurate and honest information. If someone fails to tell the truth while under oath, we will prosecute them.”
On June 11, 2014 a fire safety inspector conducting a use and occupancy inspection at JD’s Smokehouse North, formerly Bruce Bitner’s Café & Grill, observed evidence of and confirmed by the owners, that Thomas G. Williams, 61, of Ambleside Drive, Elkton and owner of Total Resource Fire and Safety had performed maintenance on the grill extinguishing system as well as servicing fire extinguishers located throughout the restaurant on June 2, 2014.
