Hawkins was arrested a short time after the homicide not far from his home. He is charged with first and second-degree murder. He’s in the custody of the Department of Corrections on a no bond status.
Police say that their preliminary investigation revealed that Galindo and the two victims argued about a prior drug transaction that occurred earlier on December 9. The argument escalated into an assault with Galindo stabbing both victims multiple times. After the stabbing, Galindo fled from the area on foot.
