Delaware Police Beat: Shayquan Sampson and Anthony Price Arrested with large amount of Heroin

According to Dover Police Lt. David E. Spicer, on August 21, 2014 at 1638 hours the City of Dover Police Drugs, Vice, and Organized Crime Unit and the Dover Police Safe Streets Unit contacted defendant Anthony Price (23) and Defendant Shayquan Sampson (22) on the corner of S. New Street and W. Division Street in Dover.

The pair were found to be in possession of 205 separate bags of heroin packaged for sale.

During the stop, the driver (Tony McClain) originally gave the officers his brothers name and personal information to the officers.

Officers were quickly able to determine that McClain was lying about the information he gave and was arrested for criminal impersonation. A search of McClain led to the discovery of a large plastic bag containing heroin in the McClain’s pants.

Stationary Traffic Safety Unit officers recorded the vehicle to be traveling at a steady speed of 98 mph in the area of 65th Street. Shortly after, the vehicle failed to control its speed and collided with a condominium building in the area of Coastal Highway and 72nd Street. The vehicle crashed into and destroyed electrical meters and an electrical box causing electrical fluid to saturate northbound Coastal Highway.

The collision caused northbound traffic to be rerouted to a single southbound lane for more than four hours as Ocean City Public Works and electrical crews worked to clean up the fluid spill and restore power to the building

According to court records, on March 26, 2014, the FBI was alerted that the Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office had received a tip that a juvenile female allegedly was engaged in prostitution for a pimp known as “Midas,” later identified as Cooley. In the early morning hours of March 26, law enforcement located the juvenile in a hotel room in Dumfries, Virginia. During a subsequent interview, the juvenile revealed that she had run away from her home in North Carolina and had been recruited initially by a pimp in Charlotte to engage in prostitution. After two weeks of working for the Charlotte pimp, the juvenile allegedly was transported by Cooley to Fredericksburg, Virginia to engage in further prostitution.

Officers of the Frederick Police Department conducted a traffic stop in the 100 block of Clarke Place.

During the traffic stop officers requested a K9 to respond and conduct a sniff of the vehicle. The K9 arrived and alerted to the presence of drugs within the vehicle. During the search of the vehicle a Ziploc bag of cocaine was located. Both the driver, Kenneth William Nicewarner, of East F Street in Clear Spring, Md., and the passenger, Joseph Haupt were placed under arrest.

LUSBY, MD. Police report that one DUI driver was loaded in more ways than one. On 8/17/14 at 3:05 am, Trooper First Class Wiesemann stopped a vehicle on HG Trueman Rd. near Town Square Dr. in Lusby for traffic violations. Charles W. Mister, 25, of Lusby, was speaking with slurred speech and the odor of alcohol was emitting from inside the vehicle and on his breath. He was arrested for DUI. A search incident to the arrest revealed a loaded handgun in the glove compartment. He was additionally charged with possession of a handgun. He was incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

A three-year old girl, believed to be Miller’s daughter, was found inside the car suffering from trauma to the upper body. Based on the initial reports from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, it appears Miller had stabbed and shot his daughter. The child was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead.

Police report that on August 14, 2014, at approximately 5:00 p.m., officers from the Northern District responded to the Target store located at 6717 Ritchie Highway in Glen Burnie for a theft suspect who returned to the store.
