Fredericksburg Police Beat: Armed robbers of Sunoco fled; K-9 track led to empty cash drawer

Sunoco, 2307 Jefferson Davis Hwy, 10/20 10:35 p.m. The owner reported that two male subjects entered the store with their faces covered and one of the men immediately displayed a handgun. The second male walked behind the cashier counter and demanded money from the register. When the owner complied and opened the register, the suspect removed the entire drawer with its contents. Both suspects then left the scene on foot. A police K-9 responded to the scene and followed a track to the area of Townsend Square Apartments, where the cash drawer was found on the ground with most of the money missing. The K-9 continued tracking into the apartment complex but the suspects were not located.

BROOKLYN PARK, MD. — A man charged with selling heroin is now under arrest and will cause disappointment for his druggie customers who will now have to seek another merchant of death.

Anne Arundel County Police report that on October 21, 2014, detectives from Northern District’s Tactical Narcotics Team (TNT) and Tactical Patrol Unit (TPU) concluded an ongoing drug investigation. During the past month, undercover detectives began purchasing heroin from a suspect in the area of Church Street and 6th Avenue in Brooklyn/Brooklyn Park.

RICHMOND, VA. In a case which will likely be studied at law schools and in continuing education courses for attorneys at Bar Association Conventions (that is how they get to write off their taxes attendance at resorts) one Virginia lawyer has gone unnamed as the victim by federal prosecutors. That lawyer was promptly outed by a newspaper as Virginia State Sen. Thomas “Tommy” K. Norment of Williamsburg, Va..

The lawyer, referred to by the federal prosecutors only as (T.N.), having represented Christopher J. Burruss, a DUI driver in court, the relationship during and after the case progressing through New Kent County, Virginia courts, apparently led to allegations in an email extortion attempt of some serious socializing between the client, the lawyer and a couple of women.

The information provided by the FBI and the U.S. Attorney don’t give exact details of the involvement but the reader can rest assured the affair likely included a bar, politicians, booze, perhaps a motel room and well…you can just imagine an episode of a scandal-laden cable TV show like House of Cards and one might have the entire picture.

Kirksey-Walcott, who had an address of 831 8th Street in the District, entered a guilty plea to burglary in Prince Georges County Circuit Court on March 29, 2013 after withdrawing a plea of not guilty. On June 4, 2013, Judge McKee sentenced Kirksey-Walcott to prison for a period of ten years with all but one day suspended and probation for a period of two years. Since Kirksey-Walcott has back up time which can send him off to the slammer for ten years, the charges against him from the incident in McDonalds are extremely serious.

Dirtbags ripped up runway with 4 wheeler; tracked by deputy with help of witness

According Calvert Sheriff Mike Evans, on October 13 at 4:13 p.m. DFC R. Wilson arrested two men and charged them each with trespass, operating an off-road vehicle on property, destruction of property less than $1,000 and disorderly conduct. A Chesapeake Ranch Estates Security Officer had earlier advised Wilson that he and another witness had observed the two men riding a four wheeler on the runway in CRE as well as on the roadway. They damaged the grassy area of the runway. The witnesses advised they saw the two men park the four wheeler at a home in CRE, then get into a passenger vehicle and leave the area. Wilson ran the tag number of the passenger vehicle and drove over to that address. The suspect vehicle arrived at the house and contact was made with the two suspects. Thomas Scott Burroughs, Jr., 18 of Lusby, and Emory Jackson Baldwin IV, 19 of St. Leonard, were arrested and charged.

Baltimore Felon Awarded New Trip to Slammer for Eleven Years for Robbery

According to his plea agreement, on August 19, 2013, Gilliam robbed a cell phone store in the 800 block of Taylor Avenue in Towson. Gilliam told a store clerk that he wanted to switch his phone service. Gilliam lingered in the store until there were no other customers, then approached the cash register with his hand in his pocket, as if he were carrying a handgun. Gilliam leaned over the register counter and yelled at a store employee demanding all the money from the register. Gilliam took approximately $300 from the store, then ordered the store clerk to the back of the store and ordered another employee to go outside. Gilliam then ran away.

Driver had his Lyon’s share of booze before driving

SALISBURY, MD. Wicomico Sheriff Mike Lewis reports that on 15 October 2014 at 12:01 PM, a deputy stopped to check on an individual stopped on the side of the road in the 8000 block of Hickory Mill Rd. Upon approaching the operator, John Ellsworth Lyon Jr., 68, of Salisbury, Md., the deputy observed indications that led the deputy to surmise that Lyon was under the influence of alcohol. The deputy also observed that while Lyon was sitting behind the wheel, the engine was also on. Following the conclusion of sobriety testing, the deputy placed Lyon under arrest for DUI. Lyon was processed at the Sheriff’s Office which included the administration of a breath test. Lyon was released upon the issuance of citations.
