Fredericksburg Police Beat: Lamont Haskins and Michael Hart wanted as suspects in robbery of teens at Nader’s Grocery

Nader’s Grocery, 508 Caroline St, 6/13 3:20 p.m. Two 16-year-old males reported they went to Nader’s to buy drinks and encountered two unknown adult males inside the store. After the teenagers completed their purchase, the adults followed them outside. One of the men pushed the boys up against the wall and demanded that they empty their pockets. The boys did not have anything of value and the suspects allowed them to go. The investigating officer was able to identify the suspects, and warrants have been obtained charging Lamont Haskins, 49, of no fixed address with two counts of robbery and Michael Hart, 50, of no fixed address with two counts of attempted robbery. Haskins and Hart had not been arrested by the time of this report.

Opinion: The Bad Guys Don’t Obey the Rules

The latest surge of violence in many of our cities is seen as a response to what occurred in Baltimore. The police were told to refrain from acting so that the rioters could vent. Now it seems that the bad guys are taking that as a cue to become more violent. The statistics seem to support that thesis. Having the might and power is essential, but one must also have the will to use it.

Fredericksburg Police Beat: Showing off gun at Verizon store sent 911 calls to cops; Charles Lynn get ride to slammer

6/3 12:30 p.m. Police responded to the area of the Verizon store in Central Park for reports of a man chasing and threatening another man with a gun. Officers and Fredericksburg Sheriff’s deputies were able to locate and detain the suspect in the parking lot, along with the weapon that the suspect had thrown to the ground when he saw police converging on the scene. The weapon was a pellet gun. Charles Lynn, 31, of Stafford was arrested on a charge of brandishing a firearm and incarcerated at the Rappahannock Regional Jail under no bond

“The victim went upstairs to a bedroom to get away from White. White followed the victim into the room and looked the door. The victim repeatedly tried to get out of the room only to be grabbed by White. The victim eventually made it to a window and was able to yell for help. A witness heard the victim’s screams for help and kicked in the door. The witness located the victim being held back by White.

Detectives are also investigating an armed robbery at a convenience store in the 2900 block of Boones Lane in Forestville. Two suspects demanded cash from an employee on May 19th at about 11:15 pm. Southern Md. Police Beat: cops say armed robber approached a victim in the California Walmart parking lot

Robbery – An unidentified black male suspect approached a female victim in the California Walmart parking lot. The suspect made threats of bodily harm while displaying a handgun and demanded the victim give him valuables. When other people in the parking lot began to walk toward them, the suspect fled on foot. Numerous deputies, K9 units, and detectives conducted an extensive search for the suspect with negative results. The Criminal Investigations Division assumed the investigation.
