LOJACK spills the beans on Joseph Townsend with stolen truck; was sleeping in hot wheels now he can sleep in Hotel St. Mary’s
CALIFORNIA, MD. – St. Mary’s Sheriff Tim Cameron reports a stolen truck was found with a sleeping thief inside parked behind the Red Roof Inn on Rt. 235.
On May 25, 2015, deputies received a LOJACK alert in the area of the Red Roof Inn located on Three Notch Road in California. LOJACK confirmed the alert was for a stolen 2013 Ford F-250 reported to the Charles County Sheriff’s Office. Deputy Wesner responded to the rear parking lot and located the 2013 Ford F-250 Home Depot rental truck.
Police say that Deputy Wesner located suspect Joseph Andrew Townsend, 23, of Waldorf, sleeping inside the cab. Townsend was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center. He was charged with Unlawful Taking of Motor Vehicle, Unauthorized Removal/Use of Property, and Rental Motor Vehicle Failure to Return.

Will suspect get to play with X Box in slammer?
CALIFORNIA, MD. – Police report that a bi-county thief is alleged to have absconded with a high-dollar game from Walmart but didn’t get a chance to play with his new toy due to the hard work of local cops.
St. Mary’s Sheriff Tim Cameron reports that on May 26, 2015, an employee at the California Walmart reported a Hispanic male suspect grabbed an Xbox 1 from the checkout counter and ran out of the store. He was seen getting into a silver vehicle with a Maryland registration. A lookout was broadcast for the vehicle. A short time later, Deputy Kontra from the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office spotted and stopped the suspect vehicle in Calvert County on Route 4 at H.G. Truman Road. St. Mary’s Sheriff Deputy Shane Cameron responded to Calvert County and found a backseat passenger matching the suspect description. An Xbox was found inside the vehicle.
The suspect was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center by Deputy Schultz. While completing the booking process, Deputy Schultz learned the name and date of birth provided by the suspect was false. The suspect was subsequently identified as Jacob Jamal Sbeitan, age 32, of Huntingtown. Sbeitan was charged with Theft under $1,000, Property Destruction Under $1,000, and False Statement to Peace Officer.
Daryl White’s Hissy-fit Over Play Station Ends with Trip to Slammer for Assault
LEXINGTON PARK, MD. – Some toys separate men from boys and some boys get separated from their toys when they act like criminals and are sent to the slammer.
St. Mary’s Sheriff Tim Cameron reports on an assault which took place on May 26, 2015, when Deputy Cole responded to a residence on Flower Drive for a domestic assault in progress. The victim alleged suspect Daryl Clinton White, 34, of Lexington Park, came home and became enraged when he could not find his PlayStation 4.
This is the play-by-play knock-down-drag-out that allegedly occurred when Bozo couldn’t find his game.
“The victim went upstairs to a bedroom to get away from White. White followed the victim into the room and looked the door. The victim repeatedly tried to get out of the room only to be grabbed by White. The victim eventually made it to a window and was able to yell for help. A witness heard the victim’s screams for help and kicked in the door. The witness located the victim being held back by White. The witness attempted to get in between White and the victim but was unable to do so. A second witness then entered the bedroom and was able to pull White off of the victim who then ran from the home and called 911.”
Police say the victim sustained minor injuries during the assault. White was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center. He was charged with 2nd Degree Assault and False Imprisonment.
