Fredericksburg Police Beat: Showing off gun at Verizon store sent 911 calls to cops; Charles Lynn get ride to slammer

Fredericksburg Police report the following criminal incidents and arrests:

BRANDISHING GUN:

1600 block Carl D Silver Pkwy, 6/3 12:30 p.m. Police responded to the area of the Verizon store in Central Park for reports of a man chasing and threatening another man with a gun. Officers and Fredericksburg Sheriff’s deputies were able to locate and detain the suspect in the parking lot, along with the weapon that the suspect had thrown to the ground when he saw police converging on the scene. The weapon was a pellet gun. Charles Lynn, 31, of Stafford was arrested on a charge of brandishing a firearm and incarcerated at the Rappahannock Regional Jail under no bond. The victim, a 30-year-old Spotsylvania man, was not injured.

LARCENY:

400 block Summit St, 5/30 – 6/3 3:00 p.m. A resident reported that an unknown person damaged the passenger door to gain entry to her vehicle and stole a bag containing a number of firearms from inside. The investigation is ongoing.

ARRESTS:

Sharel Cooper, 20, of Norfolk was arrested on charges of public intoxication and underage possession of alcohol.

Kurt Woods, 30, of King George was arrested on a warrant from King James County charging him with failure to appear in court.

Tarik Jackson, 36, of Fredericksburg was arrested on a charge of assault and battery. Jackson was released on a summons.

Raymond Cole, 42, of King George was arrested on a charge of possession of marijuana. Cole was released on a summons.

Gregory Hulo, 43, of Ruther Glen was arrested on a charge of public intoxication.

Melissa Simmons, 35, of Fredericksburg was arrested on a charge of domestic assault and battery.

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 3, 2015

LARCENY:

Gold’s Gym, 2380 Plank Rd, 6/2 4:00 p.m. – 5:25 p.m. A patron reported that an unknown person stole a credit card and debit card from his gym locker. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

ARRESTS:

Matthew Shepherd, 25, of Fredericksburg was arrested on a warrant from Stafford County charging him with petit larceny.

Jamaul Hewitt, 33, of Spotsylvania was arrested on a charge of possession of marijuana. Hewitt was released on a summons.

Shamair Faison, 32, of Fredericksburg was arrested on a charge of domestic assault and battery.

Dante Harris, 26, of Fredericksburg was arrested on a charge of trespassing. Harris was released on a summons.

TUESDAY, JUNE 2, 2015

PEDESTRIAN STRUCK: 500 block Jefferson Davis Hwy, 6/2 1:15 a.m. Jefferson Davis Highway northbound between Mary Washington Boulevard and Fall Hill Avenue was closed for over an hour early this morning due to a motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian. A 23-year-old woman from Richmond was driving her Chevrolet Malibu north on Route 1 at approximately 1:15 a.m. when she struck a male subject who was standing in the roadway.

The victim, a 47-year-old local man of no fixed address, was transported by ambulance to Mary Washington Hospital with life-threatening injuries to his head and chest. He also had multiple broken limbs. Traffic Officers Scott Worley and Dan Finn responded to the crash to conduct the investigation and accident reconstruction. The preliminary investigation has determined that speed was not a factor in the crash and the Chevrolet driver showed no signs of impairment. Both the driver and a witness who was traveling immediately behind the Chevrolet remained on the scene and waited for police arrival.

The driver and her 21-year-old male passenger were uninjured. The investigation is ongoing. No charges have been filed against the driver.

LARCENY:

1600 block Airport Ave, 5/30 – 6/1 6:00 a.m. A resident reported that an unknown person broke into his locked utility trailer and stole a dirt bike and an ATV. The investigation is ongoing.

Quality Inn, 2310 Plank Rd, 5/31 – 6/1 1:00 a.m. A guest reported that an unknown person stole her wallet from her purse. The victim later discovered her wallet in the lobby restroom, but her driver’s license and other items were missing from it. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

James Monroe High School, 2300 Washington Ave, 6/1 10:25 a.m. – 12:20 p.m. A student reported that an unknown person stole her purse from her backpack in a classroom. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

Giant, 1245 Jefferson Davis Hwy, 6/1 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. A resident reported that an unknown person stole his bicycle from outside the store. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

1000 block Princess Anne St, 5/30 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. A resident reported that an unknown person stole her cell phone from the reception area at her office. She later called the phone, and a young man answered who stated that he had purchased the phone on Craigslist. The investigation is ongoing.

VANDALISM: 2500 block Cowan Blvd, 5/18 – 6/1 5:00 p.m. A resident reported that an unknown person had scratched and damaged her vehicle on multiple occasions while the vehicle was parked outside her work. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

VEHICLE TAMPERING: 400 block McKinney St, 5/31 – 6/1 6:15 a.m. A resident reported that an unknown person entered her vehicle and rummaged through the contents of the glove box. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

ARRESTS:

Edmon Hernandez, 19, of Fredericksburg was arrested on a charge of shoplifting. Hernandez was released on a summons.

Michael Hosford, 56, of Fredericksburg was arrested on a charge of public intoxication.

William Spann, 26, of Stafford was arrested on a charge of shoplifting. Span was released on a summons.

Ralph Jett, 33, of Henrico was arrested on a warrant from Henrico charging him with assault.

David Palladino, 47, of Fredericksburg was arrested on charges of trespassing. Palladino was released on summons.

Corey Williams, 37, of Culpeper was arrested on a charge of possession of cocaine and on a warrant from Stafford charging her with failure to appear in court.

MONDAY, JUNE 1, 2015

ROBBERY:

Dunning Mills Inn, 2305 Jefferson Davis Hwy, 5/29 11:00 p.m. A resident reported that she was speaking with a male subject who is an acquaintance of hers when the male grabbed her backpack. The two struggled over the backpack before the male was able to get it out of her hands. The male then fled the scene in a blue pickup. The victim identified the offender as Timothy Hinson, 26, of Fredericksburg. Officers later located Hinson at his apartment in the city and he was arrested for the following charges: robbery, assault, and two counts of credit card larceny. Hinson was incarcerated at the Rappahannock Regional Jail under no bond.

LARCENY:

200 block Caroline St, 5/28 – 5/29 9:00 a.m. A resident reported that an unknown person stole two sets of keys from her unlocked vehicle. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

James Monroe High School, 2300 Washington Ave, 5/28 2:30 p.m. A student reported that an unknown person stole her cell phone from a classroom. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

600 block Lewis St, 5/28 – 5/30 2:00 p.m. A resident reported that an unknown person stole a BB gun that he had left on a side porch. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

1100 block Townsend Blvd, 5/31 10:00 p.m. A resident reported that a $100 bill was stolen from her wallet in her bedroom. The investigation is ongoing.

VANDALISM:

VRE Lot G, 399 Prince Edward St, 5/29 6:00 a.m. – 7:15 p.m. A commuter reported that an unknown person broke the driver’s side window on his vehicle and attempted to break the windshield. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

The Seasons, 1000 Dunes St, 5/30 10:00 p.m. An officer patrolling in the area reported that shrubs and flower beds were damaged in the front area of the apartment complex, apparently by someone driving over them. No known suspects at this time.

500 block Lafayette Blvd, 5/30 – 5/31 12:15 a.m. A Spotsylvania resident reported that an unknown person scratched and damaged her vehicle in the parking lot at her work. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

DUI ARRESTS:

Michael Taylor, 32, of Spotsylvania was arrested on a charge of DUI in the 1800 block of Jefferson Davis Highway. Philip Pierce, 28, of Spotsylvania was arrested on a charge of DUI in the 2900 block of Fall Hill Avenue.

Thomas Plummer, 32, of Spotsylvania was arrested on a charge of DUI in the 900 block of College Avenue.

Charles Clements, 27, of Spotsylvania was arrested on charges of DUI and possession of marijuana in the 2200 block of Caroline Street.

ARRESTS:

Juvenile female, 17, was arrested on a charge of shoplifting. The juvenile was released to a guardian on an intake referral.

Jovann Paige, 19, of Stafford was arrested on a warrant from Spotsylvania charging him with probation violation.

Juvenile male, 16, was arrested on a juvenile detention order from Fairfax charging him with unauthorized use of a vehicle and underage possession of alcohol.

John Torres, 26, of Crownsville, Maryland was arrested on a warrant from Spotsylvania charging him with shoplifting.

Tiffanny Jamison, 23, of Spotsylvania was arrested on warrants from Spotsylvania charging her with felony shoplifting.

 Jamal Bishop, 23, of Louisa was arrested on a charge of possession of marijuana. Bishop was released on a summons.

Marcus Wright, 25, of Louisa was arrested on a charge of possession of marijuana. Wright was released on a summons.

Devon Green, 22, of Fredericksburg was arrested on a charge of destruction of property.

Allen Lewis, 41, of Stafford was arrested on a charge of child endangerment.

Kenneth Moore, 34, of Fredericksburg was arrested on charges of public intoxication and trespassing.

Christopher Staats, 24, of Woodbridge was arrested on a charge of public intoxication.

Seneca Corns, 25, of Fredericksburg was arrested on a warrant from Orange County charging him with failure to appear in court.

Robert Washington, 51, of no fixed address was arrested on a charge of trespassing. Washington was released on a summons.

Hanh Tran, 27, of Fredericksburg was arrested on a charge of domestic assault and battery.

FRIDAY, MAY 29, 2015

UNLAWFUL ENTRY: 200 block Caroline St, 5/28 4:30 p.m. A resident reported that she was inside her home when a bell sounded indicating that a door had been opened on the lower level. When the resident checked downstairs, she found a bag of property inside the house that did not belong to any of the occupants. Police searched the home and surroundings but were unable to locate anyone suspicious. The investigation is ongoing.

DUI ARRESTS:

Michael Taylor, 32, of Spotsylvania was arrested on charges of DUI and driving while suspended in the 1800 block of Jefferson Davis Highway.

ARRESTS:

Kayla Cropp, 19, of Fredericksburg was arrested on a charge of assault and battery. Cropp was released on a summons.

Randy Bailey, 57, of Spotsylvania was arrested on a charge of public intoxication.

David Larkin, 35, of Alexandria was arrested on a charge of public intoxication.

Bradley Patterson, 21, of Fredericksburg was arrested on a charge of possession of marijuana. Patterson was released on a summons.

Ariton Radu, 22, of Spotsylvania was arrested on a charge of possession of marijuana. Radu was released on a summons.

THURSDAY, MAY 28, 2015

LARCENY:

3200 block Fall Hill Ave, 5/25 – 5/27 1:15 p.m. A visitor reported that an unknown person stole a bag containing her bank cards and prescription medication from the riverbank. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

700 block Kenmore Ave, 5/27 2:30 p.m. A Spotsylvania resident reported that an unknown person stole her backpack from her vehicle. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

1000 block Wicklow Dr, 5/27 6:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. A resident reported that her son’s iPod was stolen from a friend’s house. A suspect has been identified and the investigation is ongoing.

900 block Liberty St, 5/27 – 5/28 12:05 a.m. A resident reported that an unknown person stole his bicycle that had been left locked to a bike stand. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

ARRESTS:

Russell Chandler, 38, of Spotsylvania was arrested on charges of public intoxication and possession of cocaine.

Willie Jackson, 43, of no fixed address was arrested on a charge of possession of marijuana. Jackson was released on a summons.

Donald Webb, 56, of Fredericksburg was arrested on a charge of possession of marijuana. Webb was released on a summons.

Eddie Rivers, 34, of Spotsylvania was arrested on charges of possession of marijuana and resisting arrest.

WEDNESDAY, MAY 27, 2015

BURGLARY:

1100 block Prince Edward St, 5/22 – 5/26 9:00 a.m. The property owner reported that an unknown person entered the home by breaking a basement window. Nothing was apparently missing or stolen. The investigation is ongoing.

LARCENY:

James Monroe High School, 2300 Washington Ave, 5/15 11:00 – 12:00 p.m. A student reported that an unknown person stole his cell phone from a class room. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

ARRESTS:

Robert Phillip Brown, 32, of no fixed address was arrested on a warrant from Virginia Beach charging him with probation violation. Leon Atkinson, 49, of Spotsylvania was arrested on a charge of domestic assault and battery.

THURSDAY, MAY 21, 2015

ARMED ROBBERY:

Hall’s Vacuum Center, 2095 Jefferson Davis Hwy, 5/20 2:00 p.m. The business owner, a 71- year-old female, reported that a male subject entered the store, displayed a handgun, and demanded cash from the register. The victim complied and the suspect fled from the scene on foot. He was described as a black male in his early 20s, approximately 5’4” with a skinny build, and wearing a black hat and all black clothing. He also had a green bandanna covering his face. A police K-9 responded to the scene and followed a scent track that ended in the vicinity of Dunning Mills Inn. The investigation is ongoing.

LARCENY:

James Monroe High School, 2300 Washington Ave, 5/19 – 5/20 12:20 p.m. A coach reported that an unknown person stole his wallet from his vehicle while he was at the track. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

200 block Charles St, 5/18 5:00 p.m. A resident reported that an unknown person stole a package that had been delivered to her porch via UPS. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

Planet Fitness, 1267 Jefferson Davis hwy, 5/20 8:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. A patron reported that an unknown person stole his necklace after he accidentally left it in a tanning room. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

ARRESTS:

Devin Poole, 21, of Fredericksburg was arrested on warrants from Spotsylvania charging him with felony shoplifting and conspiracy.

Christina Morris, 24, of Spotsylvania was arrested on a charge of domestic assault and battery.

Christopher Morris, 30, of Spotsylvania was arrested on a charge of domestic assault and battery.

WEDNESDAY, MAY 20, 2015

UNLAWFUL ENTRY:

100 block Ashby St, 5/20 1:20 a.m. A resident reported that she was in the basement with her boyfriend when an unknown person opened the basement door from the outside and stood in the doorway. When challenged, the person ran from the scene. No known suspects at this time.

ARRESTS:

Justin Moore, 26, of Fredericksburg was arrested on a charge of possession of marijuana. Moore was released on a summons.

Robert Fauntleroy, 49, of Fredericksburg was arrested on a charge of public intoxication.

Chance Morris, 20, of Spotsylvania was arrested on a charge of shoplifting. Morris was released on a summons.

Robert Budion, 19, of Spotsylvania was arrested on a charge of shoplifting. Budion was released on a summons.

TUESDAY, MAY 19, 2015

ARRESTS:

Jessica Gower, 24, of Alexandria was arrested for possession of alcohol on the riverbank. Gower was released on a summons.

Jason Fordham, 32, of Germantown, Maryland was arrested for possession of alcohol on the riverbank. Fordham was released on a summons.

Samuel Stewart, 31, of Spotsylvania was arrested for possession of alcohol on the riverbank. Stewart was released on a summons.
