Arrest Made in Larceny – Theft from a Motor Vehicle:

1400 block Sands Circle, 6/25, 3:40 a.m. Two patrol officers were dispatched for a reported breaking and entering in progress. The reporting party advised that his residence’s alarm went off and when he looked out the window, he noticed two men attempting to break into his neighbor’s house.

The reporting party proceeded to chase the men off. Officer J. Gilworth and Officer B. Strother located two men matching the suspects’ descriptions nearby in the 1200 block of Farrish Street and engaged in a foot pursuit with them. One of the suspects, later identified as Pierce Miller, eventually stopped for Officer Gilworth and was taken into custody without incident. The other suspect, a young black male, continued to run.

After further investigation, Officer Gilworth located a stolen iPhone on Miller. The iPhone’s owner told police that she had left her phone in her vehicle that was parked in an unsecured garage of a residence in the 1200 block of Walker Drive. Pierce R. Miller, 19, of Fredericksburg, was arrested on a felony charge of grand larceny and misdemeanor charges of unlawful entry and possession of marijuana.

Decatur’s Crabs, 2022 Plank Road, 6/24, 1:00 p.m. An employee reported to police that items were missing from the business. After reviewing video surveillance, it was discovered that William M. Diaz Jr., 28, of Fredericksburg entered the business at 1:40 a.m. and stole a check and two bushels of crabs. Diaz was located Saturday and taken into police custody without incident. Diaz was arrested on charges felony charges of breaking and entering and grand larceny and a misdemeanor charge of possession of marijuana. Diaz is being held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.

Motor Vehicle Theft:

3200 block Normandy Avenue, 6/24, 10:00 a.m. A City resident reported that an unknown person stole his blue, 2004 GMS Sierra truck with license plate KFJ-465 from his driveway. The vehicle was left unlocked with the keys on the bed of the truck. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

Larceny – Theft from Motor Vehicle at Gold’s Gym

Gold’s Gym parking lot, 2380 Plank Road, 6/24, 11:45 a.m. A City resident reported that she left the gym after working out and realized that an unknown person shattered her driver side rear window and stole her pink, Kate Spade purse containing her wallet, over $200 in cash, and the keys to her residence. The victim contacted her credit card company and learned that her credit card was used shortly after the larceny at the Walgreens pharmacy located at 10600 Rollingwood Drive in Spotsylvania County. The investigation is ongoing.

3100 Linden Avenue, 6/24, 9:00 a.m. A City resident discovered that an unknown person stole approximately $18 in cash from her unlocked vehicle. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

Vehicle Tampering:

3100 block Normandy Avenue, 6/24, 2:15 p.m. A City resident noticed that an unknown person entered his vehicle and went through his glove box. No items were missing. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

Vandalism of a Motor Vehicle:

Domino’s Pizza, 6/23, 11:15 p.m. A citizen reported that an unknown person ripped off the chrome tailgate cover of his vehicle. The investigation is ongoing.

Vandalism:

1598 Gateway Boulevard, 6/23, 11:30 a.m. A patrol officer discovered that an unknown person vandalized the electronic sign at the entrance of the Village at Idlewild subdivision. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

Arrest Made in Recent Movie Money Fraud:

The Fredericksburg Police Department has arrested the suspect that on May 27th used movie money to make a fraudulent transaction at the Wawa located at 2390 Plank Road. Adam C Franz, 22, of Spotsylvania was arrested on a charge of obtaining money by false pretenses. The incident was initially reported in the May 31st Crime Report.

Vandalism of Motor Vehicle:

1100 block Fleetwood Court, 6/2, 4:40 p.m. A City resident reported that an unknown person shattered the passenger-side rear window of his vehicle. No items were missing from the vehicle. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

Larceny:

Farmer’s Market, 999 Caroline Street, 6/3, 12:30 p.m. A City resident reported that she placed her purse in a cart that a family member was pulling around the farmers market. When she was getting ready to leave, she realized her purse was missing from the cart. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

Kaitlyn Swartz, 28, of Fredericksburg was arrested on a charge of public intoxication.

400 block Charles Street, 6/3, 4:40 p.m. A City resident reported that an unknown person stole his gray automobile car cover. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

Larceny – Theft from Motor Vehicle: 200 block Frederick Street, 6/2, 10:30 p.m. Two City residents reported that they had items stolen from their unlocked vehicles. One of the vehicles had a pocket knife and bottle of liquor stolen from it while the other had approximately $20.00 in coins taken. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

Funland, 1351 Central Park Boulevard, 6/4, 4:40 p.m. A citizen reported that she placed her purse in a personal items box and went to ride the go carts. When she returned, she realized her wallet was missing from her purse. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

Alan Chambers, 205 Hanover Street, 12:10 a.m. The manager reported that an unknown person stole the American flag and flag pole that was hanging from the exterior of the store. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

The suspect is described as wearing camouflage pants and a camouflage jacket with a black t-shirt underneath. The investigation is ongoing.

Larceny – Theft of Motor Vehicle Parts: 600 block Greenbrier Court, 5/265, 6:00 p.m. A City resident reported that an unknown person stole both license plates from her vehicle. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

Larceny – Theft from Motor Vehicle: 100 block Morningside Drive, 5/27, 8:30 a.m. A City resident reported that an unknown person stole her wallet from her unlocked vehicle. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

Plato’s Closet, 621 Carl D. Silver Parkway, 6/1, 5:00 p.m. A citizen reported that she left her wallet in the fitting room and left the store. When she returned to retrieve it, her wallet was gone. No suspects or witnesses at this time.
