An investigation by the Maryland Natural Resources Police and allied State and local agencies resulted in the charging of five anglers in Charles County last Friday for illegally fishing for Striped Bass in a spawning area and catching other protected fish.
Acting on information gathered during surveillance, NRP officers and members of the Southern Maryland Information Center watched as a group of people caught and kept Striped Bass from an area of the Potomac River that is closed to allow spawning. As the anglers left at 1:50 a.m., NRP officers and units from the Charles County Sheriff’s Office stopped them.

More specifically, on four occasions from March 13 to May 22, 2013, McBride and others, including juveniles, drove to the following bank branches where he stole a total of $9,093: TD Bank, PNC Bank, and Citibank in Washington, D.C.; and SunTrust Bank in Forestville, Maryland. Also, on May 13, 2013, McBride and his conspirators drove to Capitol One Bank in Suitland, Maryland, to rob the bank but left without having obtained any money.
Dead guy shows up in ditch behind motel; who dunnit? MSP Investigators from the Criminal Enforcement Division Central South Region are investigating the death of a New Jersey man, previously reported as missing.
The deceased is identified as Hani Heiba, 29, of the unit block of New Brook Lane in Springfield, New Jersey. Heiba was found deceased in a ravine in Prince Frederick, Maryland. The cause and manner of death are pending autopsy results.
At 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, police discovered Heiba in a heavily wooded ravine, about 166 yards from the front of the hotel located in the 300-block of Merrimac Court in Prince Frederick. Emergency medical personnel pronounced Heiba deceased at the scene.

Quinn began stealing tools from GE Aviation’s inventory no later than 2009 and resold the stolen tools over the Internet. Most of the stolen hardware consisted of high-speed carbide drill bits. Purchasers paid for the stolen tools by depositing funds into Quinn’s personal PayPal account. According to PayPal records, between 2009 and July 2013, Quinn realized more than $108,000 from sales of carbide drill bits. The cost to GE of the stolen tools was at least $200,000

As officers and detectives were arriving on the scene, they observed two suspects fleeing from the front entrance to the store. Both suspects appeared to have been trying to conceal their identities with different clothing. The two suspects then attempted to enter a nearby waiting vehicle occupied by two other suspects. At that time, officers were able detain the suspects.
Maryland State police report that they are investigating a crash which claimed the life of a male driver late this morning, after the vehicle he was driving went over the bridge embankment and landed in the park below.
The deceased is not being identified at this time pending positive identification from the medical examiner’s office and notification of next of kin. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency medical personnel.
