BRETON BAY, MD. The Lady Sandals arrived in St. Mary’s County, Md. at about 5 pm to spend the night at anchor in Breton Bay. Presumably the Captain is well acquainted with the barbarous history of various local river rats and is well armed and prepared to repel boarders during the night. The yacht had made two stops up-river today, with port calls at Washington, D.C. and Alexandria, Virginia. The location chosen for spending overnight is but a short launch away from a great crabcake meal at the nearby Fitzies Marina.
Powered by two Caterpillar engines this 135 foot yacht has a cruising range of over 5,000 miles and is home-ported in the Cayman Islands. With a crew of five, this custom yacht accommodates eight guests in four cabins. Built by Feadship, this yacht is a world traveler and was refitted in 2007 after first being launched in 1985.
The Bristol Post reports that the yacht had been owned by actor Nicholas Cage and is currently owned by the chairman of the Sandals Resorts, Gordon “Butch” Stewart.
