The 19-year-old man on the scooter was reported unresponsive for about 10 minutes, and then he became confused and combative, suggesting a suspected head injury. He wore no helmet.
The scooter struck the driver’s side of the Mercedes SUV in the intersection. Lt. William Sullivan, police spokesman, says the driver of the Mercedes has been charged with making an illegal U-turn, no proof of insurance, and failure to signal.

The trial of Metropolitan Police Department Officer, Samson Lawrence, is scheduled to get underway July 22, 2014. He was indicted for attempted first and second degree murder and related charges after allegedly attacking his wife with a metal lamp post in November 2013.
Mr. Lawrence was attempting to hang a projection TV in his house when he allegedly became angry with his wife because she did not know where the screws to hang the projector were. Mr. Lawrence then allegedly grabbed a can of Lysol and began spraying it his wife’s face every time she said something, and when his wife refused to make him something to eat, he allegedly began pushing her.
She attempted to call 911, but Mr. Lawrence allegedly grabbed the phone from her and would not let her make the call. She then tried to leave the house, but he followed her and allegedly pushed her to the floor in their living room, picked up a metal light post and began to hit her in the head while she lay on the floor.

As a result of their investigation, detectives discovered enough evidence to obtain a search and seizure warrant for Leonard, as well as his vehicle. Members of the Narcotics Unit executed the warrant on July 12, 2014 at approximately 12:45 p.m. after conducting a traffic stop on Leonard’s vehicle. During a search of Leonard, officers located over 170 bags of heroin and over $3,100 in U.S. currency.
X-Ray Technician Who Became Company’s Vice President Pleads Guilty to Health Care Fraud
Performed and Interpreted X-Rays and Other Tests in Lieu of Qualified Physicians and Radiologists in Scheme Involving More Than $2.5 Million in Medicare Losses
BALTIMORE, MD—Timothy Emeigh, age 50, of York Springs, Pennsylvania pleaded guilty today to health care fraud arising from a scheme in which insurance providers and Medicare were fraudulently billed for tests interpreted by unlicensed personnel, and for tests and services which in fact had not been provided.
The guilty plea was announced by United States Attorney for the District of Maryland Rod J. Rosenstein; Special Agent in Charge Nicholas DiGiulio, Office of Investigations, Office of Inspector General of the Department of Health and Human Services; and Special Agent in Charge Stephen E. Vogt of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
According to his plea agreement, Emeigh was a licensed x-ray technologist in Maryland. Emeigh was not a licensed physician. Emeigh worked at Alpha Diagnostics Services beginning in 1993 as an x-ray technologist. In 1997, he was named vice president of the company’s operations.
Alpha Diagnostics was principally a portable x-ray supplier in Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania and Virginia. However, Alpha Diagnostics also supplied or provided portable ultrasound tests, electrocardiograms (“EKGs”), echocardiograms and Holter monitors. The majority of its clients were nursing homes, whose patients Alpha Diagnostics tested. Alpha Diagnostics was headquartered in Owings Mills, Maryland with an office in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Alpha Diagnostics was enrolled in the Medicare program. Medicare required that a licensed physician order and interpret the x-ray or other test, and render a formal report.

According to the OSFM, the accidental fire was started in a plastic dryer vent and caused approximately $25,000 in damages to the structure and contents. All occupants were able to escape without injury. The dwelling was also a home day care. The adult resident discovered the fire and promptly alerted all occupants. ANNAPOLIS, MD. — 07/17/2014 — Maryland Natural Resources Police officers Tuesday recovered the bodies of two men missing since the weekend.
At about 8:30 a.m., officers found the body of Daniel Isaac Lugo, 18, of Quarryville, Pa., at the mouth of the Susquehanna River, where it empties into the Chesapeake Bay.
Lugo had been swimming with family members Sunday afternoon in the shallow waters of an area known as Susquehanna Flats, when the family’s boat began to drift away. As Lugo went to retrieve the vessel, he began to flounder and call for help.
His stepfather jumped from the boat into the water and was able to grab Lugo’s shirt collar, but could not hold on.
Officers employed side-scan sonar to search Sunday evening and all day Monday. Shortly after resuming the search Tuesday morning, they located Lugo’s body.
