Waddell Tate, 97, beaten to death by killers in his own home on Darley Avenue

Eastern District Homicide Investigation

Waddell Tate, 97 years old, was killed in his home in Baltimore City on July 21, 2017.

BALTIMORE, MD.  How many thugs, drug dealers, killers, and raving maniacs have Baltimore prosecutors and Judges allowed to walk free among the public?  The Judges and prosecutors have armed guards and multiple levels of security protecting them.  No one was protecting Waddell Tate.

Baltimore Police report that on July 21, 2017, at approximately 6:50 p.m., officers responded to the 1700 block of Darley Avenue for a reported suspicious death.

Family members advised they responded to the location to find their relative, 97-year-old Waddell Tate, unresponsive.

When officers arrived on the scene they observed obvious signs of trauma to the victim’s body.

Paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced Mr. Tate deceased.

Further investigation revealed signs of forced entry. At this time, it is undetermined if anything was taken from the home.

Homicide detectives were called and assumed control of the investigation.

Homicide Detectives Need Your Help Identifying Persons of Interest

On July 21, 2017, at about 7:51 p.m., police were called to the 4500 block of Edmondson Avenue for a reported stabbing.

When officers arrived on the scene they observed a 45-year-old male suffering from stab wounds.

Medics were summoned to the location and transported the victim to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center for treatment. The victim was pronounced dead by medical personnel shortly after arrival.

Homicide detectives were called and assumed control of the investigation.

Eastern District Shooting Investigation

BALTIMORE, MD. — On July 23, 2017, at about 4:05 p.m., police were called to the 1100 block of Harford Avenue for a reported shooting.

Once at the scene, officers observed a 23-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound to the back of the head.

Medics transported the victim to an area hospital for treatment.

Citywide Shooting detectives were summoned and assumed control of the investigation.

Southwest District Homicide Investigation

On July 22, 2017, at about 11:35 p.m., police were called to the 500 block of Brunswick Avenue for a reported shooting.

Once officers arrived on the scene, they discovered an adult female suffering from gunshot wounds to the head and torso area.

The victim was transported to an area hospital, where shortly afterward she was pronounced deceased.

Homicide detectives were called to the location and assumed control of the investigation.

Western District Shooting Investigation

On July 23, 2017, at about 2:34 a.m., police were called to the 1100 block of Whitelock Street for a reported shooting.

Once at the scene, officers observed an unidentified male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the torso.

Medics transported the victim to an area hospital for treatment, where he is listed critical.

Three Handguns in Three Days; K-9 Assistance

On July 20th Officer Reid and K-9 Force were called to the Unit block of Kresson Street to assist detectives with an investigation.

A positive alert from K-9 Force led to the arrest of 20-year-old Bryant Whitaker and the seizure of two handguns and a small amount of suspected narcotics.

On July 22, Officer Reid and K-9 Force were summoned once again to assist with an investigation in the 1700 block of East 33rd Street.

A positive alert on a vehicle led to a search and seizure warrant and the eventual seizure of another handgun.

Fight leaves man unconscious, critical

On July 22, 2017, at approximately 1:10 a.m., officers from the Southern District received a call for an assault in the area of the unit block of East Cross Street.

Upon arrival, they located a 34-year-old male victim who was unconscious.

It appears the victim got into a physical altercation with acquaintances. Detectives have been able to locate some surveillance footage, but they are seeking additional information.

Detectives are looking to speak to the individuals who were with him as part of this investigation.

Southwest District Shooting Investigation

On July 22, 2017, at about 4:25 p.m., police were called to the 2100 block of Hollins Street for a reported shooting.

Once on the scene, officers located an apparent crime scene, but no victim.

Moments later a second call was dispatched for a walk-in shooting victim at a local hospital.

The victim, a 29-year-old male was suffering from a gunshot wound to the groin area.

Citywide Shooting detectives were summoned and assumed control of the investigation.

Southwest District Handgun Arrest

Calvin Jones, 19, of Edgewood Street caught with drugs and gun by Baltimore Police on July 21, 2017

On July 21, Southwest District Operations detectives were conducting narcotic investigations in the area of the 400 block of North Edgewood Street.

19-year-old Calvin Jones of the 500 block of Edgewood Street was arrested as a result of the investigation.

Recovered was a revolver style handgun along with suspected narcotics and packaging material.

Jones was transported to Central Booking Intake and Facility where he was formally charged.
