GLEN BURNIE, MD.  — Anne Arundel County Police report that on May 30, 2014 at approximately 6:45 p.m., officers responded to the parking lot of the Giant Foods in the 7900 block of Crain Highway Glen Burnie, MD for a report of a suspicious person.Upon their arrival, they met with the reporting person who was concerned about a recent donation he just made to a group collecting for the “Support our Troops Foundation”. After making a donation to a man and a woman purportedly collecting funds for the charity on the lot of the Giant Foods, the reporting person asked for and was given a flier about the group. He called a number on the flier and he heard a cellphone in one of the collector’s pocket to start ringing. The reporting person believed this to be suspicious and he notified the police.

Investigating officers first made contact with a female and learned that the male she was with had fled the area with the collection jar. A search of the area was made and the male was located, however, the collection jar was not.
