MURDER USA: Dispute at hobo camp ends with man charged in beating victim to death with stick

GLEN BURNIE, MD. — A slaying took place at a hobo camp with one man without a fixed address charged with the dispatch of another.  As a result of the altercation, both men will soon have an address, one in a potter’s field and the killer housed in a prison.
On Tuesday, May 21, 2014, at approximately 7:39 p.m., Anne Arundel County Police were dispatched to the 7400 block of Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard in Glen Burnie, Maryland, for an assault that had just occurred.
Upon arrival, the male victim of the assault was transported by paramedics to the Baltimore Washington Medical Center.  The male victim, identified as Keith Lee Boggs, 46, of no fixed address, was later pronounced deceased by medical personnel. Evidence indicated that Keith Boggs had sustained trauma to the upper body.
Anne Arundel County Homicide detectives responded to the scene and conducted several interviews with witnesses.  During the interviews, it was learned that an altercation took place between the victim and 44-year-old Joseph Eugene Wright of no fixed address.  The altercation took place in the 7400 block of Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard in the wooded area.  During the altercation, Joseph Wright used a stick to strike the victim.
Northern District detectives located Joseph Wright in the 200 block of Gloucester Drive in Glen Burnie.  Upon seeing police personnel, the suspect jumped out of a window and was apprehended after a short foot chase.
Suspect:  Joseph Eugene Wright, 44, of no fixed address, was charged with Second Degree Murder and First Degree Assault in regards to the death of Keith Boggs.  Joseph Wright also had an outstanding arrest warrant for Violation of Probation, which was served.
An autopsy will be conducted on Wednesday, May 21, 2014, at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner located in Baltimore.
