HANCOCK, MD (Aug. 4, 2015) – An Eastern Shore motorist killed her son and the driver of a big rig on Interstate 70 when she drove her small car into the truck while traveling in the wrong direction at 2:30 am.

Officers might have a sticky wicket filling out the paperwork on the escape of a handcuffed prisoner from custody as he was deposited in the rear of a police car. Such an arrangement is generally believed, in law enforcement circles, to be what is needed to move a prisoner to jail.

Body of Jake Zorn recovered in Susquehanna River

Rescue Boat 71 was in the water shortly after dispatch with the crew heading north in the Susquehanna River to start the search. Just north of the boat launch the crew noticed a light in the water and headed towards the object. The crew located a male subject holding onto a cooler and pulled him aboard. The patient advised he was in a canoe that had overturned with another male and that he had lost contact with him before our arrival.

On their voyage down the river, O’Malley directed the police boat to pull up to the ramp so he could meet local citizens. The group invited the Governor to pose for photos with them and he agreed, standing immediately behind the woman in the red shirt who both prior to and after this photo had been picked up on prostitution and other charges. One of the group was later charged with armed home invasion, another causing a serious DWI crash with injuries.

Pickup swept away by high water found; driver still missing on Little Patuxent River

At approximately 10:50 p.m., Anne Arundel County Police investigating the area in response to a missing person call located the white pickup truck in the water, approximately 150 feet south of the bridge. Firefighters and Special Operations personnel returned to the scene and were able to conduct a search of the vehicle and surrounding waters and the shore lines in the area. The flood waters had receded approximately 15 feet from the time of the initial 911 call in the morning.
