Bringing Light to Night Bowfishing

The major distinction of this particular boat is the Bimini top framework that is a combination of leaning post, bow rack, and 12 volt lighting and searchlight holder. At my age, reduced level of dexterity, and penchant for fishing alone, this is a personal option that might save me another dunking by falling off the boat. Been there, done that. More than once.

Two of the most important factors of fishing at night are having numerous lighting options to see with and a Plan B means to motor home. The Smokercraft has two twelve volt battery systems, a 24 V trolling motor power pack, and a soon to be purchased 2000 watt Honda AC generator. Lighting is provided by the floodlights, a 12 volt searchlight, and an overhead anchor light. And, let’s not forget the Maglite. The outboard motor and trolling motor offer a couple different means to power both to, through, and from those remote creeks back to the security of the public ramps along the rivers.

Drug ring was aided by Miami cop, says federal prosecutor

The conspiracy charge against Officer Silva alleges that he aided and abetted a group of persons who were illegally growing hydroponic marijuana in numerous homes that they owned, rented, or otherwise controlled, in the south west Miami-Dade County area. The conspiracy charge further identified this group of persons as members of the Santiesteban family, and their friends and associates.

The Santiesteban family members, and a number of their friends and associates, have already been convicted in a federal prosecution brought against them in 2012 for conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute over 1000 marijuana plants. They pled guilty to that charge in 2013, and are serving long prison sentences.

The conspiracy charge also alleges that Officer Silva aided and abetted the Santiesteban family members, and their friends and associates, in their marijuana growing activities by providing them with confidential MDPD information about when MDPD narcotics detectives were investigating them, and when they might have their marijuana grow houses searched, and their marijuana plants seized; and by providing advice to the Santiestebans and their friends and associates about how to avoid, deflect, frustrate, and obstruct those MDPD investigations and by providing confidential MDPD information about suspected grow houses operated by other marijuana growers, so the Santiestebans and their friends and associates could rob those grow houses of their marijuana plants.

The IRS targeted pro-Israel groups

The bald and ugly truth is that Obama’s IRS was being used for political purposes before even the Supreme Court Citizens United decision, and before the term “tea party group” was even included in the agency’s black list. As the Journal reports, “emails uncovered by the House Ways and Means Committee show that the IRS and State Department were conferring in 2009 about pro-Israel groups like Z Street and considering arguments to deny their tax-exempt applications.”

This disclosure should frighten every American as it is evidence that our nation’s tax collectors were more than willing participants in a scheme to regulate public discourse using their unique authority.

And it reveals an even seedier underbelly to the Obama Administration that can no longer hide behind the left’s outrage over the Supreme Court’s campaign financing decision. They have been unmasked as little more than thugs using the government’s power to intimidate or coerce those whom they disagreed.
