The case of the midnight rapist; police seek clues

Home InvasionEDGEWOOD, MD. —  Harford County Sheriff’s Office reports that on July 28, 2014, at approximately 5:45 am, deputies responded to the 1700 block of Crimson Tree Way in Edgewood. Upon arrival, deputies spoke with a 34 year old female victim.The victim reported that at approximately 5:10 am, she headed downstairs to her kitchen when she saw a man in her dining room going through her purse. The suspect, described only as a male wearing all black, noticed the victim approaching. He subsequently grabbed her, hit her in the face, and began to sexually assault her.

The victim fought back, and the suspect eventually stopped. After the suspect fled the residence, the victim called police. The suspect fled with items from her purse and jewelry. The victim sustained minor injuries and declined any medical treatment.

Detectives are seeking any information to help identify the suspect or anyone who may have observed suspicious activity in the area.
