Eastern Shore Police Beat: Wicomico Sheriff Mike Lewis reports burglar suspect Kevin Owens cashed in loot at pawn shop

PARSONBURG, MD. — On 10 February 2014, a deputy began an investigation into a burglary and theft at a residence in the 33000 block of Bear Swamp Road in Parsonsburg. In this incident a subject forced entry by breaking a window and removed power tools and a camera. The investigating deputy discovered the items for sale in a local pawn shop in Salisbury and identified the individual who brought them in as Kevin Owens of Parsonsburg.

The officer approached the room and observed a vehicle that was occupied. The officer approached the vehicle to investigate if it was involved while still being conscientious of room #225. As the officer walked up on the vehicle, he observed the door of room #225 open with a male suspect exiting and holding a handgun.

The officer immediately drew his firearm and announced his presence at which time a second male suspect with a handgun exited the room. Both suspects then fled on foot toward Russet Green with the officer in pursuit.

Prince William Police report that on October 21st at 9:51PM, a Prince William County police officer was directing traffic in the area of Horner

Rd and Occoquan Rd in Woodbridge (22191) related to the fatal crash on Jefferson Davis Hwy. As the officer was controlling the intersection, a driver of a vehicle, identified as the accused, proceeded through the intersection and clipped the officer. The accused remained at the scene and was determined to be under the influence of alcohol. Following the investigation, the accused was subsequently arrested. The officer was transported to an area hospital where he was treated and released.

According Calvert Sheriff Mike Evans, on October 13 at 4:13 p.m. DFC R. Wilson arrested two men and charged them each with trespass, operating an off-road vehicle on property, destruction of property less than $1,000 and disorderly conduct. A Chesapeake Ranch Estates Security Officer had earlier advised Wilson that he and another witness had observed the two men riding a four wheeler on the runway in CRE as well as on the roadway. They damaged the grassy area of the runway. The witnesses advised they saw the two men park the four wheeler at a home in CRE, then get into a passenger vehicle and leave the area. Wilson ran the tag number of the passenger vehicle and drove over to that address. The suspect vehicle arrived at the house and contact was made with the two suspects. Thomas Scott Burroughs, Jr., 18 of Lusby, and Emory Jackson Baldwin IV, 19 of St. Leonard, were arrested and charged.

Thugs pistol whipped old man in home invasion; Davonete Rodney Beckette led gang and robbed his neighbors

EDEN, MD. (Oct. 12, 2014) —Wicomico Sheriff’s Deputies and Maryland State Police arrested three men on Oct. 8th and charged them with the home invasion and pistol whipping of an old man last week. The armed invasion and robbery took place around the corner from the ringleader’s home.

Davonete Rodney Beckette, 19, of 26134 Walnut Tree Road in Eden Md. was charged with 19 counts including property destruction, assault, armed robbery, theft, robbery, possession of a handgun and other charges. Beckette doesn’t have any other crimes on his record as an adult and any such criminal record he amassed as a juvenile is sealed.

Drummond had been charged with Drug Kingpin charges as well as five other counts on June 23rd and locked up in jail on June 24th and released on July 21st, when the Queen Anne’s County States Attorney dropped all the charges. The police and prosecutors filed new charges against Drummond just in time for him to be arrested again on July 25th.

Drummond must have a hard time running his drug kingpin business allegedly selling heroin to the brain-dead druggies of Maryland when he spends so much time behind bars.

In a Caroline County Circuit Court trial held on March 25, 2014, Drummond faced charges of drug possession and attempting to elude police by beating feet in an incident which took place on Oct. 25, 2014. In a plea deal arranged by his attorney Stephanie A. Shipley of Easton and the Caroline County States Attorney, Drummond was found guilty on July 10, 2014. He was sentenced to 90 days in the slammer with no time suspended. Drug possession charges placed on Oct. 26, 2013 by Officer John Labelle resulted in a trial on Jan. 31, 2014. Drummond was found guilty and sentenced to three years and one day.
