At 7:13 PM, a male victim drove into the Sheetz gas station parking lot, located on the corner of Great Mills Road and Point Lookout Road, after he saw the police and ambulance (treating the earlier victim). The victim, identified as Maxwell Jason Heyliger, 35, of Lexington Park, was exiting the parking lot of the Sign of the Whale liquor store, located on 21899 Three Notch Road in Lexington Park, when approximately 2 rounds struck his vehicle; one of which struck Heyliger in the hand.

DOVER, DEL. — The Dover Police Department reports that officers responded to 15 shoplifting calls between January 1st and Noon on January 8th. Of those 15 shoplifting complaints, one was unfounded, seven are still under investigation, and arrests were made/warrants obtained in 7 cases. A total of 6 adults were arrested or are wanted for shoplifting during this period. Two juveniles were also arrested/had warrants obtained during this period.

Prince Georges County Md. Police are looking for these two jewelry store thieves. They didn’t steal diamonds, but they did nab two tablets used by store employees. Police say that their investigation reveals the suspects were posing as customers. When employees were distracted, the suspects grabbed the tablets and walked from the store. This happened on December 17, 2014, at about 1:30 pm at a jewelry store on Capital Centre Boulevard in Largo. These two women are wanted for using a stolen check at a big box store in Woodbridge, Virginia. The victim’s checkbook and purse were stolen from a car at a gas station in the 12000 block of Annapolis Road in Bowie on November 14, 2014. PG Police Robbery Unit detectives are working to find and arrest these three suspects. The men robbed a pharmacy on Old Silver Hill Road in District Heights on January 10, 2015, at about 11:15 am. The investigation reveals the suspects jumped over the counter, one pulled out a gun and demanded cash and prescription medication. The employees complied. The suspects then ran away. GREENBELT, MD—U.S. District Judge Paul W. Grimm sentenced Anthony Akrah Morris, age 25, of Burtonsville, Maryland, on Jan. 12, 2015 to 505 months in prison followed by five years of supervised release for conspiring to commit robbery, two counts of robbery and two counts of brandishing a firearm during a robbery. Judge Grimm also ordered Morris to pay restitution of $3,375.

CRISFIELD, MD. – Natural Resources Police report that the piracy and poaching of oyster sanctuaries in the Chesapeake Bay by the persons most likely to see a direct benefit of the effort to perpetrate oyster harvesting in the future continues.

Police say that two Crisfield watermen were charged Monday by the Maryland Natural Resources Police with illegally harvesting oysters from protected waters.

Using the Maritime Law Enforcement Information Network system of cameras and radar, two officers monitored Paul Franklin Tyler III, 29, and Jeffrey Alan Cuff Jr., 31, at 10 a.m. as they dredged for wild oysters in the buffer zone surrounding the Somerset Oyster Sanctuary near Tangier Sound.
