During the course of the traffic stop, the trooper discovered human remains concealed inside the Mustang. The remains were transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Norfolk for examination, autopsy and positive identification.

In this operation, two men were arrested and charged with solicitation of prostitution, Francis Gilbert Gomes, 57, of Laurel, and Deangelo Deahmari Edwards, 21, of Waldorf. Through investigation, police identified the three Snows and Redditt-Abrams as the suspects. Detectives learned the Toyota was involved in a traffic stop in a neighboring county the day before the robbery. All four suspects were together in the car during that stop.
During the investigation, detectives also found a profile picture on Facebook of Redditt-Abrams wearing what appeared to be the same pink pants matching those worn in the robbery.
