<p><strong>CALIFORNIA, MD. &#8212; </strong><span style="font-size: 12pt;"> The record shows that just about everything this guy has been charged with, he did it. Arson. Assault. DUI. Domestic violence and violating several ex-parte orders of Judges. Yet, St. Mary’s States Attorney Richard Fritz always comes up with a plea deal that keeps him from going to prison.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Maryland State Police report that on September 5, 2017, at approximately 6:00 p.m., TFC A. Oyler responded to South Springsteen Court, California, MD for a reported disturbance. Upon arrival, TFC Oyler made contact with a male subject, identified as Pierre Antonio Butler, 40, of 45861 N. Poteat Court, California, Md., who was causing the disturbance. During TFC Oyler’s investigation, it was revealed Butler was in possession of cocaine and a handgun. Butler is represented by attorney Rais Jaleel Akbar, of College Park.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">A St. Mary’s District Court Judge issued a domestic violence protective order against Butler on June 26, 2017. Earlier in September, Butler picked up a half dozen traffic tickets including the garden variety of violations regarding the habit of many miscreants to driving without insurance, registration, tags or a driver’s permit or while all of them are revoked. On May 22, 2017, Butler was arrested by Maryland State Trooper Krenik for driving while under the influence of alcohol on Rt. 235 north of Rue Purchase Road in California, Md. A trial date has been set for Oct. 25, 2007. Butler has a free attorney, provided by the taxpayers of Maryland for this legal adventure – Amber Lynn Wetzel of the public defender’s office.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">The St. Mary’s Sheriff’s Department reported that on March 23, 2014, St. Mary’s Sheriff’s Deputy Shane Cameron responded to a residence on Bates Road in Great Mills for a disturbance. On deputy’s arrival, they observed a large crowd surrounding a vehicle in the driveway of the residence. The investigation revealed, suspect Pierre Antonio Butler, 37, of Lexington Park, was highly intoxicated and was refusing to exit the backseat of his father’s vehicle. Deputies then attempted to help get Butler to exit the vehicle when he became more aggressive and confrontational. Butler’s actions caused several other people to respond to the scene surrounding the deputies. Butler was subsequently placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center. He was charged with Disorderly Conduct, Fail to Obey Lawful Order, and Disturbing the Public Peace. St. Mary’s States Attorney Fritz dropped all the charges.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;"><a href="https://www.the-chesapeake.com//2017/02/12/dwi-hit-parade-given-plea-deal-by-carroll-county-states-attorney-in-2014-conrad-thorpe-charged-with-dui-again-when-he-killed-boy-on-bike/plea-deals-2/" rel="attachment wp-att-12537"><img class="alignleft wp-image-12537 size-large" src="http://www.the-chesapeake.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/Plea-Deals-1-1024x642.jpg" alt="" width="1024" height="642" /></a>Butler entered a guilty plea to violating an exparte order on Dec. 12, 2013, in a plea deal with St. Mary’s States Attorney Richard Fritz. THE DEAL: Butler entered a guilty plea and was sentenced to one year in jail with all of the jail time suspended except for 41 days and then given credit for those same 41 days which he served in jail awaiting trial.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Butler entered a guilty plea to disorderly conduct on April 4, 2013, in St. Mary’s District Court. Butler was charged by St. Mary’s Deputy Snyder on June 7, 2011, with assault and with his regularly assigned free attorney from the public defender’s office negotiating a plea with St. Mary’s States Attorney Fritz, he entered a guilty plea on Sept. 1, 2011. THE DEAL: one year in jail with all of the jail time suspended.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Charged with stalking, assault, arson, burglary and threat of arson, St. Mary’s States Attorney Richard Fritz cooked up a plea deal with Michael Daniel Figus, attorney for Butler after a Grand Jury indicted him on eight crimes. THE DEAL: Butler entered a guilty plea to violating an exparte protective order and first-degree arson. Six charges were dropped. Butler was given a five-year sentence with all of the prison time suspended and credit for 366 days of time served in jail while awaiting trial.</span></p>

<h2>Do women really leave their wallets in the shopping cart and walk away? Really?</h2>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">CALIFORNIA, MD. &#8212; The answer to the headline is, yes, say police. And a shopper who became a victim at the Target store made a dirtbag happy by doing exactly that.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Maryland State Police say that on September 9, 2017, at approximately 3:00 p.m., TFC S. DiToto responded to Target in California, MD for a reported theft of a wallet. Upon arrival and making contact with the victim, it was discovered the victim left her purse in a shopping cart, unattended, while she was in the adjacent aisle. Video surveillance identified a white male, wearing a black t-shirt, blue jeans and red shoes remove a wallet from the victim’s purse and left the store. The State Police, however, did not provide the video with their press release.</span></p>
<h2>Colonial Beach drug dealer trying to horn in on the territory of St. Mary’s drug dealers</h2>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">GREAT MILLS, MD. &#8212; There must be a shortage of druggies wanting to buy drugs in Colonial Beach, Virginia. Maryland State Police say that on September 13, 2017, at approximately 1:19 a.m., TFC Meurrens conducted a traffic stop in the area of Old Great Mills Road and Point Lookout Road, Great Mills, MD. Upon making contact with the occupants, a strong odor of marijuana was detected. During a probable cause search of the vehicle, over 94 grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia were recovered. Further investigation revealed the drugs belonged to a passenger in the vehicle, identified as Robert Edward Padgett, 22, of 3335 Rappahannock Road, Colonial Beach, Virginia. During a search incident to arrest, a large amount of cash was also found on Padgett. He was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center. Padgett was charged with Possession of Controlled Dangerous Substance and Possession with the Intent to Distribute. He was also wanted on an open warrant through King George County Sheriff’s Office in Virginia. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Either Padgett isn’t a very good drug dealer, or perhaps is just innocent or is simply too cheap to hire a good lawyer like the Gunslinger Lawyer of Leonardtown – Kevin j. McDevitt – remains to be seen. Matthew Connell, a free taxpayer provided attorney is signed up as his mouthpiece at this time. A fugitive from justice hearing is scheduled for Oct. 16, 2017.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Padgett entered a guilty plea to larceny on Dec. 3, </span>2014<span style="font-size: 12pt;">, in King George County District Court. Perhaps Padgett should learn how to make more money from allegedly selling drugs so he can afford to pay his fines and get his driver’s license back. He was fined $100 for driving while suspended on Jan. 29, 2014.</span></p>
<h2>THE TIRE ROLLERS</h2>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">CHARLOTTE HALL. &#8212; On September 13, 2017, at approximately 12:30 p.m., Trooper M. Manning responded to Seymour Used Auto Parts in Charlotte Hall, St. Mary’s County for a reported theft of a tire. The suspects left prior to Trooper Manning’s arrival. Trooper Manning was able to locate the vehicle and the suspects at Mr. Tire in Mechanicsville. The investigation revealed the three suspects identified as Christina M. Buckler (W/F, 33 of Chaptico), James W. Burke (W/M, 32 of Mechanicsville) and Marlee L. Stokes (W/F, 31 of Clements) loaded a tire in their vehicle and left without paying. All three suspects were arrested and transported to St. Mary’s County Detention Center where they were charged with Theft under $100. During a search incident to arrest, Mr. Burke was found to have suspected marijuana inside his sock. He was issued a civil citation for possession of marijuana less than 10 grams. </span></p>
