Southern Maryland Police Beat / Cops: Anthony Norris swept cash out of wallet in home invasion

Anthony Dale Norris charged with theft in home invasion in North Beach Md. by Maryland State Police Aug. 15, 2017

NORTH BEACH, MD.  — Perhaps this victim might arm herself with a baseball bat or a gun the next time she answers the door.  Maryland State Police report that on Aug. 15, 2017, at 5:21 pm, Trooper First Class Warrick responded to the 3600 block of 10th St. in North Beach for a reported theft. The victim reported answering a knock at the door and being pushed aside. A suspect, later identified as Anthony Dale Norris, 30 of 3919 Chesapeake Beach Road, North Beach, ran into the home and after exiting, the victim found all the money in her wallet missing. Norris was later apprehended, was arrested and incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center. Norris has public defender Luke Elliot Woods, provided by the taxpayers, to be his attorney.

  • Norris has benefited from dropped charges in Anne Arundel Circuit Court for assault and reckless endangerment by Anne Arundel States Attorney Wes Adams.
  • After leading Calvert Deputy Curtin on a high-speed chase while operating a motorcycle in which he racked up more than a dozen traffic charges on Rt. 260 at Parris Estate Court in Calvert County on Feb. 7, 2015, Norris got a plea deal with Calvert County States Attorney Laura Martin. THE DEAL: on July 2, 2015, Norris entered a guilty plea to eluding a police officer and was sentenced to jail for one year with ten months and 20 days suspended, zero fine and credit given for time served which resulted in him walking out of the court room a free bozo. All of the other charges were dropped.
