BALTIMORE CITY POLICE BEAT: Commissioner Kevin Davis: “One officer has powers suspended, two on limited duty”, as body-worn cam shows detectives placing drug evidence
Baltimore Public Defender releases body cam video and proclaims it shows Baltimore Police planted evidence. Baltimore Police Commissioner stated that the officers may have been placing the bag with drugs inside in the place where the buyer told them the dealer had gone to retrieve drugs for the transaction. “The officer might have been placing the bag where he had found it so he could document it with his body cam on, that is what we are investigating. I say footage where officers where the recovery had been taken place, and the procedures of that action are inconsistent with the practices, if evidence was planted we will take assertive actions, right now there are more unanswered questions than answered questions.

Perception is reality if citizens think our police officers are planting evidence, that is what keeps me up at night, we have to share as much as we can with the public. I can’t say ‘no comment’ and we will get back to you. We will respond with what we know and that how we will continue to be transparent. I will call balls and strikes and I will get back to you and people will be held accountable, we want to know the truth and what happened.
