Baltimore City Police Beat / Ex-Con Tyrone Johnson Arrested on Gun and Drug Charges
BALTIMORE, MD. – Baltimore Police reports that on December 10, 2016, Western District plainclothes officers were tipped off by an anonymous source that a gun had been placed in a hole at the base of a tree in the area of Braddish Avenue at Westwood Avenue. The officers located that gun and hid in a covert location and waited for someone to come and retrieve that firearm.
According to police, a short time later, a male who would later be identified as 24-year-old Tyrone Johnson of 1732 Moreland Street, Baltimore, Md., returned to the location and retrieved that weapon and placed the weapon and a black plastic bag in the front of his waistband.
From Tyrone Johnson’s body, officers recovered a loaded 9mm semi-automatic handgun with an extended magazine, 54 grams of suspected marijuana, 96 grams of suspected cocaine, and narcotic packaging material.

Officers arrested Tyrone Johnson and transported him to the Homicide section to be interviewed. It was learned that Tyrone Dominick Johnson had an open warrant for failing to appear in court on an unrelated charge.
Johnson who is prohibited from possessing a firearm due to being on probation for drug charges and is currently in Central Booking where he has been charged with firearms and narcotics violations. Police reported that he was being held without bail and has a preliminary hearing set for Jan.11, 2017.
