New Castle- The female homicide victim whose body was found on DE Rt. 9 in New Castle on Sunday, April 26, 2015, has been identified as Lisa A. McCrossan, 36, of New Castle, DE.
The investigation into McCrossan’s death by the Delaware State Police Homicide Unit is continuing. Further details will be released as they become available.
Delaware State Police Homicide Unit detectives began conducting a death investigation after a female was found deceased on DE Rt. 9 in New Castle.
The investigation began, Sunday, April 26, 2015, at approximately 5:30 a.m., after a call was received by the New Castle County Emergency Operations Center reporting the discovery of a female’s body lying along the side of DE Rt. 9 (River Road) south of Hamburg Road, New Castle.
New Castle County Paramedics and the Delaware State Police responded to the scene at which time the female victim was located and pronounced dead. Her body was then turned over to the Division of Forensic Sciences where an autopsy was performed. The death has been ruled homicide with the manner of death still to be determined. The name of the victim is being withheld at this time pending the notification of her next of kin.
The investigation by homicide unit detectives is still in its early stages. So as to not compromise the integrity of this investigation no further information will be released at this time.
