Smyrna, Del. – The Delaware State Police Kent County Criminal Investigations Unit reports that it has made an arrest in the burglary to a residence located in the unit block of Cedar Court, Holly Hill Estates development.
On Monday December 22, 2014 detectives received a telephone tip from a citizen who recognized the individual depicted in the surveillance photos that were released to the media earlier that day. At the same time, troopers were being dispatched back to the area of Cedar Court for a burglary in progress. Upon their arrival, Joshua M. Masten, 29 of Smyrna, was taken into custody without incident at his home nearby and identified as the suspect in both incidents.
Joshua Masten was transported back to Troop 3 where he was formally charged with four counts of Burglary 2nd, one count of Attempted Burglary, four counts of Theft, one count of Attempted Theft, and three counts of Criminal Mischief. He was arraigned at JP2 and released on $26,500.00 unsecured bond.
No other suspects are being sought in this case.
