NRP Charges Four Watermen with Oyster Violations; Adam Antes Busted Twice in a Month for Raiding Oyster Sanctuary

NANTICOKE, MD. — Natural Resources Police report that four Eastern Shore watermen charged during January with state wildlife violations by Maryland Natural Resources Police officers. One of them was cited again for raiding a sanctuary on the heels of another raid just a week earlier.

Carson could be fined a maximum of $1,000 for each violation. On the first charge of selling a bushel with 25 undersized crabs, she can plead guilty and pay a $400 fine. However, she is required to appear in Carroll District Court on the charges of having one bushel with 74 undersized crabs and the other with 87 undersized crabs. The court date has not been set.

Maryland Natural Resources Police report that two Kent Island fishing boat captains were charged Thursday with operating passenger vessels without required safety equipment and failing to have the appropriate licenses, following a lengthy investigation and enforcement action by undercover Maryland Natural Resources Police officers and the U.S. Coast Guard.
