Aaron Slemker killed in Budds Creek drag strip crash

Budd’s Creek, Maryland – on July 22, 2014 at 12:45 PM, deputies responded to the Maryland International Raceway for an accident involving a motorcyclist.

Preliminary investigation revealed the operator of a racing motorcycle, identified as 21 year old Aaron Slemkez, was participating in a training session on an access road behind the drag-strip when he lost control and struck a cement barrier.

Not knowing when he was given a break and not arrested on the spot for driving on a suspended driver’s license, this driver tempted fate and angered the Gods of Common Sense and landed in the slammer. Police report that on 7/14/14 at 6:40 am, Trooper Palumbo stopped a vehicle on Lower Marlboro Rd. in Huntingtown for traffic violations. Stephen P. Miller, 44 of Huntingtown, was driving on a suspended license. He was advised he could not continue to drive and he agreed to make arrangements for his own disposition. Approximately 5 minutes later, after resuming traffic enforcement, Trooper Palumbo observed Miller driving past. He was arrested for failing to obey a lawful order. He was incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

The 19-year-old man on the scooter was reported unresponsive for about 10 minutes, and then he became confused and combative, suggesting a suspected head injury. He wore no helmet.

The scooter struck the driver’s side of the Mercedes SUV in the intersection. Lt. William Sullivan, police spokesman, says the driver of the Mercedes has been charged with making an illegal U-turn, no proof of insurance, and failure to signal.

Upper Marlboro: trials panned by prosecutor – D. C. Police Officer Samson Lawrence faces Gods of Guilt for lamp post murder of his wife

The trial of Metropolitan Police Department Officer, Samson Lawrence, is scheduled to get underway July 22, 2014. He was indicted for attempted first and second degree murder and related charges after allegedly attacking his wife with a metal lamp post in November 2013.

Mr. Lawrence was attempting to hang a projection TV in his house when he allegedly became angry with his wife because she did not know where the screws to hang the projector were. Mr. Lawrence then allegedly grabbed a can of Lysol and began spraying it his wife’s face every time she said something, and when his wife refused to make him something to eat, he allegedly began pushing her.

She attempted to call 911, but Mr. Lawrence allegedly grabbed the phone from her and would not let her make the call. She then tried to leave the house, but he followed her and allegedly pushed her to the floor in their living room, picked up a metal light post and began to hit her in the head while she lay on the floor.

As a result of their investigation, detectives discovered enough evidence to obtain a search and seizure warrant for Leonard, as well as his vehicle. Members of the Narcotics Unit executed the warrant on July 12, 2014 at approximately 12:45 p.m. after conducting a traffic stop on Leonard’s vehicle. During a search of Leonard, officers located over 170 bags of heroin and over $3,100 in U.S. currency.
