The CEO and President of WashingtonFirst Bank, Shaza Anderson, prominently displays her mugshot along with the complete Board of Directors, assuring their place in the consciousness of the community but fail to provide the same level of effort in protecting their employees and customers from bank robbers. But CEO Anderson did make sure a seasonal decoration was available – a pumpkin – on the counter. Too bad they didn’t hide a camera in the pumpkin.

But then, they are likely devoid of all good judgment anyway. Maryland State Police report that on 11/18/14 at 5:37 pm, Trooper First Class Casarella responded to the Super 8 Motel in Prince Frederick for a possible CDS activity complaint. The odor of burnt marijuana was emitting in the hallway on the first floor. It was strongest outside Room 120. The occupants, Bentley M. Hutchison, 22 of Front Royal, VA, and Robert F. March, 40 of Manassas, VA, were issued Civil Citations for Possession of Marijuana Less than 10 grams.

On September 3, 2014 Deputies from the Caroline County Sheriff’s Office, Patrol Division, responded to a residence in the 7000 block of Ganeys Wharf Road, Preston, Maryland, for a cardiac arrest, which resulted in the death of Eric Pattison Matzeit (31 years old).

The initial investigation indicates that the victim and a friend were walking west on Obrecht Rd from Jumpers Hole Rd. They were walking along the edge of the westbound lane of Obrecht Rd when the victim was struck from behind by an unknown vehicle. The vehicle continued traveling west and did not stop and remain at the scene after the collision.

The victim was transported to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma by Anne Arundel County Paramedics due to life threatening injuries. At this time, his condition has improved and he is listed in critical, but stable condition.

During that incident, the victim ordered from the drive-thru and proceeded through the parking lot when his vehicle nearly collided with the suspect’s vehicle. Unbeknownst to the victim, the suspect then followed him to his residence and confronted him in his driveway. The male suspect then displayed a small knife and stabbed the victim twice in the upper arm and once in the lower portion of his body.

Since that arrest three more victims have come forward with similar allegations.
