DUI-related Collision: On July 29, 2014, at approximately 0330 hrs, troopers responded to the area of MD Rt. 90 at the exit for MD Rt. 589 regarding a single vehicle collision. Upon the arrival of troopers it was determined Vinicius Freire Carneiro of Ocean City, MD, failed to maintain control of a 2004 Chevrolet truck as he exited onto MD Rt. 589 from westbound MD Rt. 90. The Chevrolet struck the Ocean Pines and the Ocean Downs Casino sign, traveled off the roadway, and into the woodline. Subsequently, the Chevrolet rolled onto its side. Carneiro refused medical treatment, but it was determined through the investigation he exhibited signs of impairment. Carneiro unsatisfactorily performed standardized field sobriety testing and was subsequently arrested. Carneiro was transported to the MSP Berlin Barrack, but he refused to submit to a breath test. He was subsequently charged with the collision event and the DUI.

PRINCE FREDERICK, MD. — Maryland State Police report that on 8/6/14 at 1:35 pm, Trooper First Class Costello responded to the area of the PNC Bank in Prince Frederick for a reported disorderly subject. Timothy E. Greenhorn, 36 of no fixed address, was located in an extremely intoxicated condition. Greenhorn was belligerent and became aggressive during contact with police. He was arrested and incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.
BALTIMORE, MD—A federal jury convicted Abdulmalik Abdulla, age 37, and Ahmed Mohssen, age 54, both of Baltimore, today on charges of food stamp fraud and wire fraud in connection with a scheme to illegally redeem food stamp benefits in exchange for cash.
The convictions were announced by United States Attorney for the District of Maryland Rod J. Rosenstein; Special Agent in Charge William G. Squires, Jr. of the U.S. Department of Agriculture Office of Inspector General, Northeast Region; and Special Agent in Charge Stephen E. Vogt of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
“Retailers who trade food stamp credits for cash are on notice that federal authorities are on their trail,” said U.S. Attorney Rod J. Rosenstein. “Taxpayers fund the program to provide food for needy recipients, not to turn retail store cash registers into ATM machines.”
WASHINGTON, D.C. — 08/10/2014 — Deirdre M, Daly, United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, and Patricia M. Ferrick, Special Agent in Charge of the New Haven Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, today announced that a federal grand jury sitting in New Haven has returned an indictment charging Bridgeport Police officer CLIVE HIGGINS with violating an individual’s civil rights by using unreasonable force during the course of an arrest.
The indictment was returned yesterday. HIGGINS, 48, is expected to appear today at 2:30 p.m. before U.S. Magistrate Judge Joan G. Margolis in New Haven.
PORTSMOUTH, Va. — Coast Guard Cutter Vigorous marked its official arrival at its new homeport at Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek-Fort Story, Virginia Beach, Friday.
Vigorous is the first of two Medium Endurance Cutters from Cape May, New Jersey to be relocated to Little Creek. The Coast Guard Cutter Dependable is scheduled to arrive in 2015
