Anne Arundel County Police report that on August 17, 2015 at approximately 1:56 p.m., Officers responded to the Verizon Wireless store located at 3353 Laurel Fort Meade Road for a reported armed commercial robbery. Employees advised the below suspects, one armed with a firearm, entered the store and demanded money and cellular phones.
Inside that car was a man suffering from gunshot wounds. An ambulance rushed the victim to a hospital where he died a short time later
The fire was discovered by an employee at a nearby business establishment, and 911 was alerted shortly after. Fire departments from around the region assisted Chestertown Vol. Fire Department and were dispatched to the fire at 7:53 pm. The fire was controlled in about 2 ½ hours by over eighty firefighters who responded to the four alarm fire. Four firefighters sustained minor illness and injuries during fire suppression; all have been treated and released from medical attention.
