FORESTVILLE, MD. – Maryland State Police reports that on March 8, 2018, at 10:45 am, a trooper charged a District Heights woman suspected of driving under the influence before crashing Wednesday in Prince George’s County.

The suspect, identified as Miteka Chanel Trueheart, 27, of 3301 Walters Lane, Apt. 104, District Heights, Md., was cited with driving a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, driving a vehicle while impaired by alcohol, speeding, failure to drive a vehicle on the right half of the roadway as required, failing to stop at a stop sign and reckless driving. 

She is being treated for injuries at University of Maryland Prince George’s Hospital Center.

The trooper attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver refused to stop. The driver, later identified as Miteka Trueheart, continued to travel on Pennsy Drive until it crashed into an embankment in the area of Pennsy Drive and Landover Road.

 

At approximately 10:40 p.m. on Wednesday, a trooper observed a 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe traveling at 62 mph in a 35-mph speed limit zone on Pennsy Drive and 75th Avenue in Landover, Md. The trooper attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver refused to stop. The driver, later identified as Miteka Trueheart, continued to travel on Pennsy Drive until it crashed into an embankment in the area of Pennsy Drive and Landover Road.

Trueheart was transported by ambulance to University of Maryland Prince George’s Hospital Center to be treated for her injuries sustained in the crash. No one else was injured and no other vehicles were involved in this incident.
