SALISBURY POLICE BEAT / Armed Robbers hit Armored Truck Driver

FBI OFFERS REWARD UP TO $10,000

SALISBURY, MD. – Salisbury Police are seeking information about four males who robbed an armored truck driver who was filling an ATM machine.  Police reported that Salisbury police officers and detectives initiated an investigation into an armed robbery of the armored truck driver that took place at approximately 7:15 a.m. on January 22, 2018.

 Salisbury police officers and detectives responded to the SECU for a reported armed robbery. The investigation revealed that a male armored truck driver was robbed while filling an ATM machine with cash. The suspects fled the scene on foot towards Rt. 50.

 Further investigation revealed that the Loomis Armored truck driver arrived at SECU in an effort to fill the ATM machine with currency. While filling the machine, the driver was approached by what was described as 4 male suspects who were all armed with handguns. The suspects immediately demanded currency while binding the driver’s hands.

The suspects stole the driver’s company issued handgun and stole an undisclosed amount of currency before fleeing on foot.

 Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office K-9 assisted in the investigation and conducted a K-9 track which did not locate additional evidence or the suspects. Maryland State Police Aviation Division also assisted in the investigation but was unable to locate the suspects or additional evidence.

As detectives continue this investigation, the Salisbury Police Department requests that anyone that happened to be in the area of SECU on Mt. Hermon Road and Rt. 50, during the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 7:20 a.m. and observed any suspicious behavior to contact the Salisbury Police Department at (410)548-3165 or Crime Solvers (410)548-1776.

Suspect #2: Black Male, wearing all dark clothing, wearing a dark colored mask, armed with a handgun.
