WICOMICO SHERIFF POLICE BEAT / Trouble for Double;
Charged with Running Cocaine Palace
SALISBURY, MD. — Running a multi-level drug distribution business can be fraught with trouble, and for Nathan Double, it was double trouble.
Wicomico Sheriff Mike Lewis reports that beginning October 2017, the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office Community Action Team (CAT) conducted an investigation into suspected drug activity occurring at a residence located at 8175 White Lowe Road, Salisbury, Maryland.
Police say that on January 2, 2018, Deputies with the Community Action Team, assisted by the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Emergency Response Team (SERT), and the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division (CID) executed a search and seizure warrant at the residence of Nathan Lee Double. Five people were located inside, to include Nathan Double, 43, of Salisbury, Md., and Tori Decelles, 26, also of Salisbury.
According to Sheriff Lewis, during a search of the residence, Deputies located cocaine, suspected crack cocaine, and items used to package and sell cocaine.
Double and Decelles were arrested, charged and transferred to the Wicomico County Detention Center. Double was released from WCDC on a $25,000 unsecured bond. Decelles was released from WCDC her own personal recognizance. Police report that this investigation is open and ongoing and may result in additional arrests.
Charges:
Nathan Double – Maintaining a common nuisance (residence) for distributing a narcotic controlled dangerous substance, maintaining a common nuisance for administering a narcotic controlled dangerous substance, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, and possession of controlled paraphernalia.
Tori Decelles – Possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of controlled paraphernalia. Incident: Theft of motor vehicle, Possession of CDS, Possession of firearms by prohibited person.
Double entered a guilty plea to DUI on Jan. 6, 2016 in Wicomico County District Court in a plea deal with Wicomico States Attorney. THE DEAL: 30 days in jail with 28 days suspended and a fine of $442.50. Double was arrested by Maryland State Trooper M. Perdue on Sept. 20, 2015 as he operated a 1995 GMC on Woodyard Road at Rt. 346.
Charged with DUI on Dec. 6, 2006, by Maryland Trooper Tingle, as almost made it home while operating on Log Cabin Road at White Lowe Road, Double was in trouble again with the courts. In a plea deal in Wicomico District Court with Wicomico States Attorney on March 7, 2007, Double enter a plea of guilty to DUI. THE DEAL: Double was sentenced to Probation Before Judgement with ZERO jail time and a fine of $50.50 – about twice the cost of a cab courtesy of the lenient prosecutor, States Attorney Davis R. Ruark, who agreed to that deal.
Ruark was himself convicted of DUI on May 12, 2008, in a plea deal with the Worcester County States Attorney. Ruark was arrested for DUI by Officer Shawn Beach of the Ocean City Police Department on Feb. 22, 2008. THE DEAL: Wicomico States Attorney Ruark was given a verdict of guilty with ZERO jail time and a fine of $507.50 and probation until May 12, 2009.
