PRINCE FREDERICK, MD. — Detective Sgt. Bruce W. Bevard of the Maryland State Police at Prince Frederick reports that on Aug. 10, 2017, at 12:48 pm, Trooper First Class Costello stopped a vehicle on Armory Rd. in Prince Frederick for traffic violations. The distinct odor of marijuana was emitting from inside the vehicle. A probable cause search was conducted and a large amount of marijuana was located. Michael William Thomas, 18, of 323 Rachael’s Way, Prince Frederick, Md., was arrested for possession with the intent to distribute the marijuana. He was incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center. Bond was set at $10,000 cash with ten percent allowed, and $1,000.00 was posted on Aug. 10, 2017, when Thomas was released.

Pilot of Booze Cruise Had Junkie as Passenger

PRINCE FREDERICK, MD. – Maryland State Police report that on Aug. 10, 2017, at 11:05 pm, Trooper Stull stopped a vehicle on Rt. 4 south of Rt. 402 in Prince Frederick for traffic violations. The driver, Kenneth Steven Moss, 38, of 246 Sycamore Ridge Road, Laurel, Md., was found to be driving under the influence of alcohol. A passenger, Craig M. Carter, 45, of 14625 Baltimore Ave., Laurel, Md. was alleged to be found to be in possession of Methadone and Oxycodone pills. He was arrested and incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center. Carter is currently on probation for driving while suspended in Anne Arundel County, Md.

  • Maguire, of 6006 Peccary Court, Waldorf, Md., was arrested for DUI, reckless driving by St. Mary’s Sheriff’s Deputy Potter on April 28, 2016, while operating a 2002 Ford on Rt. 235 in Lexington Park. On Oct. 12, 2016, in St. Mary’s District Court in a plea deal with St. Mary’s States Attorney Richard Fritz, Maguire entered a guilty plea to reckless driving and paid a fine of $484.50. A charge of possession of drugs other than marijuana was dropped by Fritz and a deal was made for Maguire to pay a fine of $200 in a guilty plea to possession of drug paraphernalia. A charge of DUI by a controlled substance was also dropped as part of the deal by Fritz. Attorney Hammad Shaikh Matin represented Maguire.
  • Maguire entered a guilty plea on Sept. 25, 2015, to DUI alcohol for an arrest on July 11, 2015, made as he operated a 2002 Ford on Rt. 5 at Zekiah Drive in Charles County by Officer Sapienza of the Charles County Sheriff’s Department. The plea deal with Charles County States Attorney Anthony Covington allowed a verdict of Probation Before Judgement. THE DEAL: No time and a fine of $500.00.
