<h2>Cops: Park Visitor Tina Werner Tragedy at Go Ape Tree Adventure; Killed in 40-foot Fall</h2>

<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Delaware State Police continue to investigate the death of a 59-year-old woman after she fell from a platform at the Lums Pond State Park.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">The incident occurred at approximately <span class="aBn" tabindex="0" data-term="goog_1119983248"><span class="aQJ">2:35 p.m.</span></span> yesterday, Wednesday, August 24, 2016, as Tina Werner, 59, of Felton, DE was on the Go Ape Aerial Rope Adventure Course </span>in<span style="font-size: 12pt;"> the Lums Pond State Park, located at 1068 Howell School Road, Bear. Werner was standing on a platform located approximately 35′ above the ground, waiting to descend on a zip line. It was at this point that she fell from the platform to the ground.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">First aid and advanced life-saving efforts were then rendered to Tina Werner by Go Ape employees as well as Park Rangers. She was then treated at the scene by New Castle County Paramedics before being transported to the Christiana Hospital by ambulance where she was pronounced dead. Her body was then turned over to the Division of Forensic Sciences where an autopsy will be performed.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">The investigation into this incident is still on-going at this time, however, foul play is not suspected.</span></p>

Delaware State Police Spokesman Master Corporal Jeffrey R. Hale reported that police are currently investigating the death of a 59-year-old woman after she fell from a zip line ride at a Bear area state park.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">The initial investigation has determined that the incident occurred at approximately 1:40 p.m. this afternoon, Wednesday, August 24, 2016, the guest fell approximately 40 feet from the Go Ape Tree Top Adventure attraction at the Lums Pond State Park, located at 1068 Howell School Road, Bear. The female victim was treated at the scene by New Castle County Paramedics before being transported by ambulance to the Christiana Hospital where she was pronounced dead. The victim’s name is being withheld pending the notification of her next of kin. There were no other injuries.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Police said the investigation into this incident is in its early stages. More information will be provided at the conclusion of the investigation.</span></p>
