<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">HYATTSVILLE, MD. &#8212; When one man was working to make a living selling ice cream a dirtbag decided to take not only his proceeds from a day’s work but almost took his life as well. The Prince George’s County Police arrested a man in connection with shooting an ice cream truck driver on July 4<sup>th</sup>, 2016. Prince Georges County police report the suspect is 22-year-old Demetrice Isiah Littles of 2200 Virginia Avenue in Hyattsville, Md.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">At about 5:50pm, on July 4th, patrol officers were called to the 5100 block of Buchanan Street for a shooting. The officers found the victim on the ground with several gunshot wounds. He survived his injuries.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">The preliminary investigation reveals the suspect confronted the victim just prior to robbing and shooting him.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Littles was taken into custody when visiting his parole officer and charged with attempted first-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder, and numerous counts of assault and armed robbery on July 29, 2016. He faces a court hearing on August 24, 2016 in Upper Marlboro, Md.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">The Montgomery County States Attorney dropped three counts of theft against Littles on June 28, 2016, following his arrest and jailing on April 1, 2016, leaving him available and free to attempt to kill a working man on the Fourth of July.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">On July 12, 2013, Littles entered a guilty plea to auto theft in Prince Georges County Circuit Court in a plea deal with States Attorney Angela Alsobrooks, and was sentenced to ten years in prison with all but one year suspended and placed on supervised probation for five years. Afterwards, he has admitted twice to violating his probation and had another hearing to send him back to prison set for Aug. 16, 2016.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Detectives are still searching for another suspect.</span></p>
