<h2>Cops: Bailey Battered Baby</h2>

<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">MECHANICSVILLE, MD. – St. Mary’s Sheriff Tim Cameron reports that detectives have charged Nathan Bailey, with abuse of an infant and dumping the injured baby off at a daycare center; the child is now in critical condition at Children&#8217;s Hospital in D.C. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Cameron reports that on January 5, 2016, detectives from the St. Mary&#8217;s County Sheriff&#8217;s Office Special Victims Unit and investigators from the Department of Child Protective Services responded to Children’s Hospital in Washington, D.C. for the report of an injured infant. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">The investigation revealed the victim, a seven-month-old, was examined at MedStar St. Mary&#8217;s Hospital for a head injury. Subsequently, the victim was flown to Children&#8217;s Hospital for further treatment where doctors determined the injuries were the result of a battered baby.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">The victim remains in critical condition at Children’s Hospital.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Detectives determined injuries were caused by the suspect, Nathan Alan Bailey, 30, of 28590 Flora Corner Road, Mechanicsville, Md. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Police say that Bailey ignored signs the victim was in distress and routinely dropped the victim off at daycare. After observing the victim display signs of injury, the daycare provider sought medical assistance. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">An arrest warrant was obtained by Detective Scott D. Ruest for Bailey. He was located, placed under arrest, and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center. He has been charged with First Degree Assault, Child Abuse, and Child Neglect.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Bailey is being held on a $1,000,000 bond.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Bailey was ordered to pay child support on March 21, 2014, by the St. Mary’s County Circuit Court in a case brought by the Department of Social Services on behalf of Kimberly Earlene Solomon. Bailey has no prior arrests or convictions for any crimes in Maryland; there are only instances of traffic offences are on his record.</span></p>
