NORFOLK, VA. – A man that police say is responsible for the murder of Michael Clemons Jr. in Norfolk on July 15, 2015 has been apprehended and was in custody in a few hours following the slaying.

Norfolk Police Homicide and Fugitive Squad Detectives have announced that they have arrested 21-year-old Lewis McMiller this evening without incident in the shooting death of Michael Clemons Jr..

McMiller was taken into custody in the 3600 block of E. Va. Beach Blvd shortly after 5:30 pm report Norfolk Police.

Norfolk Police have positively identified McMiller as the suspect in the morning’s homicide incident in the 900 block of Holt Street.

21-year-old Lewis McMiller has been charged with Second Degree Murder and Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony. McMiller was a fugitive for several hours and police warned that he should be considered armed and dangerous.

As a Norfolk resident, police broadcast before his capture that he was known to frequent the 1200 block of Bunsen Court. Anyone with any information about McMiller’s whereabouts after the murder or has information connected with the killing is encouraged to contact the Norfolk Homicide Unit at 757-664-7023 or the Norfolk Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
