GLEN BURNIE, MD.  Anne Arundel Police report a quick end to the career of the Beauty Shop Bandit.

On May 21, 2015, at approximately 12:20 p.m., officers from Northern District responded to the Family Hair Care located in the 500 block of Stewart Avenue in Glen Burnie for an armed robbery.

Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim, who stated a male suspect entered the store, brandished a handgun and robbed the business.  An undisclosed amount of U.S. currency was taken.  The male fled the store on foot, got into a vehicle and fled the area.  The victim was not injured during the incident.  During the investigation, a suspect and vehicle were identified. Charges were applied.

On May 22, 2015, at approximately 9:06 a.m. officers from the Special operations K-9 unit and Northern District initiated a traffic stop in the Glen Burnie area on a silver Hyundai Elantra. The vehicle was wanted in connection with the armed robbery. The driver of the vehicle was taken into custody without incident and positively identified as the suspect from the robbery. Northern District Detectives interviewed the suspect, who admitted committing the robbery.

Suspect: Michael Paul Crandell, 37, of no fixed address.
