<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Leonardtown, Maryland &#8211; On April 10, 2015, at 11:00 AM, deputies responded to Point Lookout Road in the area of Radio Station Way, for a reported serious motor vehicle collision. Preliminary investigation revealed Barbara Elaine Lacey, age 69, of Chaptico, was southbound on Point Lookout Road, operating a 2001 Pontiac Sunfire. Lacey was slowing down to make a left turn into the park and ride near Radio Station Way.</p>
<p>A 2004 Chrysler Sebring, operated by Allison Brooke Williams, age 18, of Mechanicsville, was also traveling southbound on Point Lookout Road, failed to slow down, and struck the rear of the Sunfire.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Lacey was transported to Medstar St. Mary&#8217;s Hospital and was subsequently transferred to Washington Hospital Center Trauma Unit. While at Washington Hospital Center, Lacey succumbed to her injuries.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">St. Mary&#8217;s County Collision Reconstruction Team members responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. Police said that at this time, alcohol and speed do not appear to be a contributing factors in the collision. A blood draw of the driver in a crash is required by law and toxicology reports on both the deceased and at-fault driver will become a part of the investigation.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Anyone who may have witnessed the collision and who has not yet provided a statement is asked to call Deputy First Class Brandon Foor at (301) 475-4200 Ext. 2265. </span></p>

<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">LEONARDTOWN, MD. It appears that it is high time that St. Mary’s County Sheriff Tim Cameron orders pink jail uniforms for the inmates, turn off the cable TV and put these dirtbags to work picking up trash and breaking rocks.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">On April 7, 2015, Corporal Smolarsky responded to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center for a fight between inmates. The investigation revealed suspect Reginald Deante Thomas, age 24, of Great Mills, struck the victim inmate in the face with his fists. Thomas was charged with 2nd Degree Assault. </span></p>

<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">LEXINGTON PARK, MD. – St. Mary’s Sheriff Tim Cameron reports that on April 8, 2015, Deputy Kevin Molitor met with a victim at Sheriff’s Office Headquarters in Leonardtown. The victim alleged suspect Janet Ann Bender, 59, of Lexington Park, sprayed the victim in the face with air freshener and tried to hit the victim with a bottle during an argument. Bender was located and placed under arrest. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">She was transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center and charged with 2nd Degree Assault. </span></p>

<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">LEXINGTON PARK, MD. – They finally got his guns, but how is it that a court order to take away an arsenal of guns from a suspect under orders to surrender the guns, still have them in his possession?</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">On April 9, 2015, Deputy S. Cameron made contact with a victim in the Lexington Park area reporting a violation of a protective order. The victim alleged suspect Paul Clements Tippett JR., age 48, of Loveville, contacted the victim in violation of an active protective order. The victim alleged the suspect made statements over the phone in violation of the order.<br />
The victim also alleged Tippett was in possession of firearms even though the order directed him to surrender all firearms. Deputy Cameron determined Tippett was in possession of 21 firearms after having been served the order of protection. Tippett was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center. All firearms were confiscated. He was charged with Violation of Protective Order. </span></p>

St. Mary’s Sheriff Tim Cameron reports that on April 9, 2015, Deputy Lawrence responded to the Food Lion located on Great Mills Road, for a reported theft.<br />
A store employee alleged suspect Sheila Marie Hardesty, age 51, of Lexington Park, placed items of merchandise in her handbag. After making a purchase, Hardesty failed to pay for the items concealed in the handbag. Hardesty was charged with Theft Under $100 by <em>criminal citation</em>, which is police talk for she wasn’t arrested. She was simply given a form that said she had to appear in court.</span></p>

St. Mary’s Sheriff Tim Cameron reports that on April 10, 2015, employees of the Hong Kong restaurant located on Merchant&#8217;s Lane say they were in the back of the business when they returned to the front and found a male suspect taking cash from the register. The suspect fled on foot. Several deputies attempted to locate the suspect with negative results. Case remains open.</span></p>
